Flattering/ Practical dress for new-mum as bridesmaid?

I am due to be a bridesmaid on 25th August, and am currently pregnant with my first DC, due on 7th July.

The lovely bride wants all her bridesmaids to be comfy and has said we can choose our own dresses, as long as they are blue and a similar chiffon/ satin material. She asked me to wear bright blue (electric blue) as that suits me and one other bridesmaid will be wearing the same colour.

Am anticipating still being pretty huge as it will only be 4 - 6 wks after I give birth (all being well). Although I plan to be wearing all manner of restricting underwear!

We have found some nice maternity dresses eg
www.yummymummymaternity.co.uk/occasion-chiffon-maternity-dress-shilla-blue-6173-p.asp

But I'm worried they will emphasise the post-baby bump too much, and also make it difficult to deal with leaky nipples/ breastfeeding. Does anyone have any experience of this?

I love this dress, but it's the wrong colour and they don't have my size

Any ideas? Both for dresses and for helpful underwear!?

That Coast maxi is lovely. I don't think you'll need a maternity dress. You'll be flabby but not fat, I was in pre-pregnancy stuff about three weeks after birth. I'm not a skinny Minnie but like I say you'll have a jelly tummy but you won't have a massive bump. The way a maternity dress is cut will mean you will look pregnant if you wear one.

Thank you so much cremeeggs and Wips, and sorry for the silence yesterday - got caught up with a work emergency.

Thanks for the advice - will definitely avoid a maternity dress if it will make me look pregnant! Do you think I should go for something that would normally suit me? That Monsoon dress is lovely, might go for that one!
