How to wash bras properly...

Hi everyone. I usually just treat my bras the way I do my other clothes - bung them in the machine as a mixed load then air dry them. However, I recently spent quite a bit of money on nice, well fitting bras, and I would like them to stay nice and well fitting for as long as possible. What's the best way to wash them?

I try to put them in washbags and do them with my cashmere and wool items.

I have been known in the past, to just do a delicates wash with just one a couple of bras in.
But seeing as I now live in a house with a water meter, that may have to stop.

I always hand wash my bras. The only time they go in a washing machine is for a spin cycle as I need one in the morning. I have huge boobs and have never been able to by bras under £25 but always sale shop for them, so I never risk it. In the sink/bucket with a bit of washing powder, swish about abit, leave, swish some more, rinse, rinse, rinse, hang over bath to dry.

A combination of the above! If they're really expensive I hand wash, otherwise in a net bag when i do a 30degree wash - and don't tumble obviously.

Thanks all! I think I'll give hand washing a go, as I have no wash bags and no idea how to set my washing machine to 30...

I am an actual adult, I swear (just a bit of a slovenly one)

another one for handwashing.

Also another little tip, check the brand and style of your expensive bras and then have a look on ebay. I get brand new bras that are about £35 in the hops or £10. - £15 that way.

I do a separate handwash of underwear, tights and knitwear using cheap shampoo - anything in the pound shop I like the smell of. It only takes a couple of minutes.

Fairyliz, I do the Ebay thing too for expensive underwear brands. Once you have found a make and style that suits, the sizing tends to be very consistent IME.

My bras are expensive (they need to be to support my bust properly !) and, though I hate washing, ironing, etc I always wash them by hand to protect my investment!
