Non comedogenic moisturisers

Hope someone can help as I'm going round in circles with this!

My son has just been prescribed a adapalene/benzoyl peroxide gel for his acne which is making his skin very dry and sore. I gather he needs to use a non comedogenic moisturiser to soothe this - can anyone recommend any brands? Preferably something I can buy easily in Boots or similar!

I've got things like Simple moisturisers, sudacrem, aquaous cream already. Are these non comedogenic or should he give them a try anyway?

I think the ultimate step is going to be roaccutane but GP wants to give other things a try first.

Thanks in advance.

I have lots of breakouts around my jawline and have just invested in Dermalogica active moist - pricey but non-comedogenic and it does feel lovely.

A cheaper option would be No7 moisturiser for oily skin - I've used this before and it is good though not super-hydrating.

La Roche Posay and Vichy also do really good moisturisers for acne prone skin, more expensive than Simple etc but less than premium brands. And you can find them in Boots!

Hi there, I use something similar by the sounds of it - Duac in the am and Differin at night. My derm recommended cetaphil to wash my face as many face washes just strip out your skin, and cetaphil lotion. Both from boots. I also have the cetaphil cream for when I get reply dry, but these products have really helped to keep the dryness under control so I can keep using the other products. Hope that helps.

I bought Neutrogena oil free moisturiser today, all Neutrogena products are 3 for 2 in Superdrug atm.

the peroxide is just the disinfectant part of the acne treatment
it is hugely drying buy very good for killing bacteria

what is he using as a face wash?
does he know how to wash his face/dry his face?

how bad is his acne?
have you used a bha to help with blackheads and oil?

non comedonic afaik isn't a term that a company can be held to iykwim
best thing is for him to use the kindest moisturiser that isn't fragranced or full of plant extracts

I think neutrogena is meant to be noncomedogenic especially the one in orange packaging. I've just recently started using their blackhead scrub and moisturiser for my hormonal chin (use anti ageing stuff elsewhere) and it's made an improvement. Check on their website.

I use olay cleansing cloths for sensitive skin
but the clinique extra mild liquid soap is really great and boys don't mind how it looks and they get to wash their face?

this is the neutrogena moisturiser. it is a bha treatment which might be hydrating enough so that he doesn't need a moisuriser
I find it a bit sticky but it's amazing

La Roche Posay is fantastic.

Thank you everyone for the responses. I am going to try Neutrogena.
Have no idea what bhas are though. It's like learning a new language!
