Hoping to get away with not spending £150 on a dress I can only wear to a wedding. I would wear this out to dinner etc, but is it too casual for a wedding?

It could work but would need careful accessorising IMO which could involve spending more ££ than just buying a more weddingy dress. Do you already have a light coloured jacket or cardi, light clutch bag and shoes? Thinking patent nude colour, and definitely nude tights not black opaques like the model is wearing.

Yes, definitely smart enough, it's all in the styling. They've presented it in a casual way (including the horror of pale shoes and black stockings, ghastly). Instead, imagine it worn with very fine denier black stockings, spike heel stillettos, pearl earrings, a smart updo and a little black pillbox hat, and a faux fur wrap in ivory. Wear a good watch and have scarlet nails. Would be a super glamorous look and no one would guess the dress was was a high street cheapie. On a weekend, the same dress worn with nude tights, peach ballet flats and a cream cardi and hair worn down, the same dress could work for a summer picnic. Perfect.
