Blog recommendations for 33 year old

I always though fashion blogs were for teenagers but am realising this isn't the case! I desperately need someone to copy inspiration and guidance so what blogs would you recommend for me? I liked the "does my bum look 40" one but keen to check out some others too if poss!

Hanne has just proven the point. Different people like different things and look for different things in a blog. And if you don't like Blogs, you won't like any. Nor are you obliged to read them.

I mostly like some nice photos, some nice links and not too much writing. But I have a short attention span and just want to look at nice combinations and follow the links.

Yep. That's why I love Susie so so I like reading posts that sound like someone's talking to me, iykwim. I also like ideas for styles, not specifics.

Yes explanations are fine but I don't want to read pages of ramblings personally but as Mme says - good job there are so many out there.

Wendy and Atlantic good for just beautiful looks but of course it helps they look like models and get gifted a lot of gorgeous stuff.

I would rather read some ramblyness - I prefer Nigella-style "I like to wear/cook this on Tuesdays when the moon is full" rather than Delia-style "here is a thing, this is how to make it/where to get it"

I used Pinterest for a while but have lost interest a bit. Yes, Trills. I am more a Nigella style reader than a Delia.

And I have never baked a Delia cake that has been successful.

Really! Nigella's cakes are renowned for being rubbish - there's a site out there somewhere dedicated to correcting all the wrong measurements in her domestic goddess recipes.

What a put down though to refer to someone as more Delia than Nigella Shock Wink

Anyway I'm way more Mary Berry who quite frankly could take both of them in the cooking and fashion stakes.

I don't read Nigella for the recipes, I read it for the ideas and the ramblyness. In the same way that it is very rare that I see an outfit on a style blog and go out and buy the actual item that I see.

I don't get her out when I think "I need a foolproof recipe for chocolate cake", I get her out when I want to spend some time thinking about food and reading about food.

This chocolate fudge cake is very good though

It's an analogy to show that we use different blogs or different books for different purposes.

Oh, I meant from a writing perspective, not from a cake baking one. I don't think I have tried a Nigella recipe.

I discovered recently that my mum has an original Mary Berry cookbook

Yes. A while back I found a blog and loved the outfit. I spent ages trying to get all the bits to put together my own version. I didn't want to wear the bloggers outfit, I wanted to create my own. In the same way, I rarely stick to a recipe. I always fiddle with it and tweak it until it suits me.

I do love Mary. But she writes a lot for agas which I have and can be tricky to bake with.

Agree Nigella's writing is fab - How to Eat one of my favourite cookery books. But don't ever rely on her measurements for cakes or flapjacks [how many wasted oats due to that recipe]
