Mid-budget skincare/ make-up advice for greasy skin please

I've never had great skin, thought I'd grown out of it but meh, I didn't.

I wear make-up for work - very neutral; shades of brown/beige eyeshadow, small amount of Revlon colourstay brown eyeliner (the only brand which doesn't slide down my face after two hours), brown mascara and russety coloured blush so I don't look too like the undead (I don't bother in summer, but in winter, it's an essential!).

Currently using up my creams etc as DH and I are on a major budget, but am literally scraping the barrel of Lacura night cream now and onto some weird Superdrug own sparkly eye cream...

For my wedding I treated myself to £150 worth of Temple Spa stuff, their cleanser, serum, eye cream and moisturiser for oily skin was amazing! My skin looked glowing and zit free for the big day, but I just can't afford to buy it regularly.

So... Any recommendations really? I want mid-budget, like the idea of organic etc but not too fussy. Thinking of Body Shop as a possible; do their makeover and see how it feels before I buy perhaps?

Thanks in advance :)

My skin is very greasy, but I have a simple face cleaning routine that has improved the look of it in a matter of 3 weeks.

The one tip I was given by my neighbour (a beautician with over 20yrs experience), was to use baby lotion/aqueous cream for cleansing, clean off with warm water and moisturise. It takes all of 5mins to do. Make sure the aqueous cream has sodium lauryl/lareth sulphate in it because the SLS is the cleanser in the cream.

My skin is looking far better now than 3 weeks ago. I started using this method about 4 months ago and the difference to my skin is that it is less spotty, it's softer and in better shape than it was in my early 20's.

Meant to say that you can get tubs of aqueous cream for £1 in most Poundland shops, Tesco sell it for £2-4, Boots sell it for £5-ish.

HTH as well

Thank you, will definitely give that a try. I tend to be a quick once-over with a flannel kinda girl anyway, so I guess this would fit in easily with this 'regime'!

Do you mind me asking which moisturiser you use?

I'm trying the N-Spa range at Asda for cleansing, toning and moisturising. Virtually identical to Liz Earle but about a 1/4 of the price, plus the're on 2 items for £8. V. similar ingredients.

Thanks SewCrafty, how is it working out for you so far? Do you find it heavy or quite a light moisturiser?

The moisturiser I use is normally Diprobase, but any cream with SPF15 is slapped on. You could even used suncream as a moisturiser if you want.

My beauty therapist neighbour tells me that your face should be slightly sticky about 1/2hr after applying the moisturiser and that's one way of knowing if you've got enough moisturiser on. That way you can put more on if needed.
