Tights or bare legs to the office?

Can I ask you stylish people whether you wear tights or leave your legs bare if you are wearing a skirt to the office? I have always worn tights, but they feel a bit old-fashioned now. Just wondering what everyone else did. Thanks.

Why are we talking about this in February? There was sleet and hail here today! Boots and tights only.

Personally, except for specific circumstances that I will explain later, I find not wearing tights at the office somewhat tacky and unprofessional. Obviously, for these days of the year (only a handful in this country though) that it's quite warm, I agree to going bare legged, as long as of course as your legs are looking decent and are well taken care of. For the rest of the time though, skipping the tights looks too "quick and let's-throw-something-on-and-go" which is a no-no in the workplace. There is a lot of variety out there in terms of hosiery denier for different weathers and lots of options we could go for (tights, holdups, knee highs etc). For any other look, it's a completely different story but - to be honest - I think that, if any of us ladies wants to be called "smartly or formally dressed", we need to have some sort of hosiery on. I believe tights is necessary to complete my look when wearing a skirt or a dress, although I often wear them under trousers too. I don't even know how the nonsense "tights are old-fashined" idea came about but whoever's saying so are just simply lazy and can't be bothered completing their looks and looking like a proper professional / woman.

Anyway, I had a bit of a rant, didn't I? I'll stop, LOL. Just thought I'd throw my 2p in the conversation...

Bare legs in summer, opaque black tights the rest of the time. I don't like in-betweeny tights.
