post party it's your lips that are smoky and your eyes that are red...

moondog · 25/04/2006 14:45

Well i quite like the 40s vibe from that one but isn't black soooooo bloody boring!!!
Wear the flowery one.You will stand out more,I promise you.
Noone ever says,'Who was that bombshell (dh and my favourite word at moment) in the black dress??' do they??
They say' God,who was that wild chick in that sexy little turquoise and black number??'

I rest my case.

expatinscotland · 25/04/2006 14:45

first dress, yay.

second dress, NO! too much of a dita von tresse rip off.

Harpsichordcarrier · 25/04/2006 14:46

harpsi, how could stilettos on a short person look tarty?

should we be wearing flatties with bows and ribbons or something?

expatinscotland · 25/04/2006 14:52

you have good taste, np.

i'd go w/the first dress, the shoes and bag you just put up, a smoky eye and reddish lips w/NO blusher and a chunky bracelet as accessory.

NomDePlume · 25/04/2006 14:53

Stilettos only look tarty if they are being worn with something too short (mini-skirt type thing). The length of the dress is what'd make a stiletto look tarty, but these dresses all seem to be knee legth or thereabouts.

nailpolish · 25/04/2006 14:53

oops! ive just seen the price

oh fck it, whats a budget if you cant go over it?!

OP posts:
nailpolish · 25/04/2006 14:55

the bag and shoes cost more than the dress!

i am very proud to have my first outfit entirely polled by mn

hi expat

i wont be wearing a jacket

a because it would be added expense just to wear for a few minutes

b because i will be getting a taxi

c because IT WILL BE WARM!

i may get a little shrug or pashmina (are pashminas still in? i saw them in monsoon...)

OP posts:
nailpolish · 25/04/2006 15:21

i already have a black pashmina, can anyone tell me if i will be making a fashion mistake if i wear it or not?

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 25/04/2006 15:28

pashmina can be fine if worn with right degree of élan and flair, not wrapped up to chin unless actually snowing:

mummygow · 25/04/2006 15:29

I liked the first floral dress and I think you could dress it up or wear it quite casual. Depending on length it would look nice with black trousers or jeans for the casual look - or very elegant with bigh high heals. Oh a jewllery in that blue would be gorgeous!!
