Talk to me about my skin (late 30's)

My face wash and moisturiser have just run out, and it's pay day tomorrow, so I would love some recommmendations Smile

My skin is combination, dry in places but still prone to spots and blackheads (nice!) It also looks dull quite a lot.
I'd love to find a face wash/moisturiser that is light enough to deal with spots etc but also makes my skin glow, so any recommendations would be super!

I used to suffer from spots but started using Liz Earle cleanse twice a day and her oil in the evening, my skin is now in great condition. In fact DH keeps asking me to do a pregnancy test because I have a glow!

Body shop aloe Vera wash and day/night creams. Really good and always on offer.

Don't rate the toner tho. Prefer just using plain rose water.

These 3 things have really sorted my skin out...inc no more spots.

Rose water sounds beautiful - where do you get that from Mrsap?
And Arisbottle - I have just had a look at Liz Earle stuff, is it the Cleanse and POlish hot cloth cleanser?

YY Liz Earle.
I use Decleor oil when skin is dry.

Wolfiefan · 31/01/2013 21:23

Yes to hot cloth. 3 step system.

er1507 · 31/01/2013 21:24

liz Earle or elemis

BrandyAlexander · 31/01/2013 21:29

Another one who uses Liz Earle. My skin really suffered in first pregnancy. I started using it and have never looked back. Each week I use pineapple and papaya facial scrub by kiehls which is also gorgeous. I also do a weekly vitamin e body shop face mask. Good luck

Rose water from my local ethnic/ world foods shop but I think u can get it in sainsburys etc too. Just make sure it is proper rose water. Some have alcohol etc in them which u want to avoid.

I'm using LE at the moment and I have been getting little thread veins at the sides of my nose Sad I think I'm probably too harsh with the cloth. Anyway I prefer to use a simple gentle cleanser like Dermalogica Ultracalming, which is a gel you massage into dry skin then just rinse off, and exfoliate separately a couple of times a week. I do like LE but find it too harsh for twice-daily use.

Walnutcakelover · 01/02/2013 12:23

jump I also got thread veins and tiny little red spots after using liz earle, i did give it a while, but my skin never got used to it. I also tried the superskin moisturiser and the same thing happened, so i don't bother with liz earle, i stick to elemis.

I had the Shu Uemura oil too and ran out, I absolutely loved it - it's quite ££ though so thought I'd give LE a go. I have loads to use up before I can treat myself to Shu Uemura again Sad

I use Olay 7 signs of ageing daily scrub and Lancôme Visionnaire serum with the Lancôme genifique day and night creams. I am 37 and have combination skin and this is the first mix of moisturiser and cleanser which I have used that doesn't give me a break out of spots. I also liked the l'oreal youth code for when I'm less flush.
