Mother of the Bride outfit for 86 year old!

My Aunt is getting married at the beginning of April which means that my 86 year old Grandmother is the Mother of the Bride! The wedding is in a Scottish castle.

My Grandmother has requested that we go shopping for her outfit this weekend and I need some inspiration as to where we should go and what we might choose. She is a young-at-heart woman, loves classic fashion, and loves a bit of 'bling'! She will also spend most of the wedding in her wheelchair as she cannot stand or walk for long periods of time. I guess we will need some kind of a cover-up as the castle may be a bit drafty! Also, she has been rather unwell recently so wants to wear something that makes her feel wonderful, so she is willing to spend up to around £200.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to an outfit/shops we should target? We'll be in Edinburgh which has most of the high-street stores.

Thanks Smile Any help greatly appreciated!

John Lewis. Call them now and see if you can get a personal shopper appointment. If you can then you get your own massive changing room with someone bringing you clothes.

If it's too late to book that then JL anyway, lots of brands under one roof, and I assume a cafe for when it all gets a bit much and tea and cake is called for.

Try Jaques Vert - I got my mum a lovely JV outfit to be MOG in, and she was very comfy and looked great. Hers was v heavy jersey black dress and a bright pink jacket with hat and bag.

Jaques Vert - great suggestion. I'm going to have a look at their website now. I believe they have a couple of concession stores in Edinburgh.
