Are these still fashionable? If so, can someone recommend a style and colour? Also, how is the fit?

Thanks Smile

They come up really small! Our best bet is to try some on, they are a classic shape though. To be fair, last time I had a pair, they didn't live that much longer than my cheapies...

I am overseas so would be ordering online. It's helpful to know they come up small, thanks. Would you be so kind as to recommend a style? There are so many and I am hopeless with fashion. I want to wear them with dresses or jeans on casual days.

Thanks Smile

I find French Sole to be a bit flimsy. There are some other brands that aren't as pricey in sale at mo:
Just ballerinas
Pretty ballerinas
If the 2 links don't suit you then you can do a search by the brand names.

I bought Hobbs ballerinas which are great. If you need something more sturdy but like the ballerina style then Clarks do a model called 'cocoa creme' which is in a ballerina style but much harder wearing.

Blue Velvet ballerinas are cheaper and last longer. They are true to size too. Shop on the Kings Road in London, but available online too.

Not a fan of French Sole really. I've had a few pairs from there and much prefer the styles, fit and longevity of my ballet pumps from Pretty Ballerina (someone has posted a link below). FS are a bit flimsy and the sizing is all over the place.

And they have the rudest staff ever in their Marylebone shop. But it was probably my fault for going in there and trying to buy a pair of shoes at the same moment that a C list 'sleb chose to go in.

Agree Hobbs are a good bet for ballerina styles . And their sizing is pretty true, not small.

I have a pair of Pretty Ballerinas which I like but the fit does vary quite a bit depending on style and might be difficult to get right online.

Don't know where you are but if in Western Europe Geox shops usually have some nice ballerinas.

Thanks for the Blue Velvet suggestion! I have seen some I like on their site, but I don't think you can buy online?

I'm another who's going to say that they seem to fall apart easily. I wouldn't recommend them.

I think I saw something similar on La Redoute
