i am mid forties and not ready to be old yet!
frown lines and nose/mouth lines must go!
but if i have these treatments, how much will i be spending each year?
is it a slippery slope?

before you shove filler in your face
take an afternoon off to watch housewives of beverley hills, orange county etc
then decide whether you want a face like theirs

I think you can have botox or fillers without looking odd, it just depends who you go to, you need to do your research on a very good Dr.

SassySask · 28/01/2013 20:49

Make sure you do LOTS of research and definitely don't just go for someone because he/she is the cheapest. Don't go to a salon or a dentist either as they've had like 3 days of training at the most.

The pricing is often done by how many "areas" you want doing. You are looking at £170 for one area, £200 for two, £230 for three etc. All the areas you have mentioned can be botox-ed, including round the mouth. You will need twice-yearly top-ups too as the face absorbs the filler and can change your face back to it's original shape.

Btw, it HURTS.

I don't know anyone that has had fillers, but Botox is massively taking off amongst PLU in my opinion.

I have had it twice. The last time was early sept and it wasn't even started to wear off yet.

I love it. I felt I was starting to look permanently cross with deep 11s, and a bit knackered.

I have 3 areas, £250, guaranteed for 3 months. I have no lines whatsoever on my forehead now, but can still move it.

I think dentists can be good at Botox (mine is), they spend a lot of time training on the musculature of the face after all.

It really depends on who you go to. I know a few people- acquaintances - who have had a little work done but they paid for the " best".

Fillers seem to cost around £500+ and Botxo is a lot cheaper- more like £200 but depends on how much is used. Fillers might last you anywhere from 9-12 months, Botox less. It's hard to be preicse because from what people have told me charges vary according to how much is used and everyone's face is different.

The only people I know who have had anything done have gone to drs- not beauticians.
