Would be this okay for a Feb wedding, or is more suitable for funeral?!

I have a wedding next month, require arm coverage! I love this dress

But worry it is too sombre - any thoughts?

be alright for a chief mourner Wink

DuchessFanny · 27/01/2013 15:19

Hmmm bit too somber for a wedding .... Have you seen anything else ?

libertychick · 27/01/2013 15:21

I wore a black dress with lace arms to a wedding last year - looked ok I think. What accessories are you wearing with it - I had silver jewellery and silver sequin clutch and v high heeled black sandals.

libertychick · 27/01/2013 15:22

Meant to say, I think the dress is lovely.

izzysmydog · 27/01/2013 15:23

Yeah you are right to have reservations ... Depends on the type of wedding and what the others guests will be wearing? If its an evening do would say ok. Hope you find something

GobblersKnob · 27/01/2013 15:28

I's a lovely dress, could you team with very bright shoes/bag?

dexter73 · 27/01/2013 15:30

If the wedding is at a church I would say no, but if it is in a hotel/registry office or the like I would say it is fine.

meditrina · 27/01/2013 15:31

If it was all you had in your wardrobe, and you could cover a lot of it up with something in colours, then it would do.

As you're buying new, I think I'd take the opportunity to choose something not funereal for a celebration.

novelsituation · 27/01/2013 15:31

I would agree it's a bit sombre. I recently talked myself out of a dark navy lace dress for a Winter wedding for the same reason. In the end went with a rich plum coloured dress as I love deep colours.

fuckadoodlepoopoo · 27/01/2013 15:32

Ooh lovely dress but a bit too much black!

timidviper · 27/01/2013 15:34

Is it still considered "not done" to wear black or white to weddings? I don't know if I would wear it or not

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/01/2013 15:34

It's very severe - it doesn't look like the sort of dress to party all night in. I think no, sorry. I've got nothing against black dresses at weddings at all, but the sleeves and the length and the neck all make that a bit too serious looking, I think.

Yogagirl17 · 27/01/2013 15:34

I think lots of people wear black to weddings now, esp a winter one. Maybe it's the lace that makes it look a bit sombre? Very pretty though.

I wish it was in a nice blue or something, but I think you are all right, this particular dress may be a bit too black! I would have used a silver clutch and silver jewels, probably 1930s style. What about with something like this?

Its more black!

polyhymnia · 27/01/2013 16:02

Really nice dress but agree with others - too black and sombre for a wedding.

fuckadoodlepoopoo · 27/01/2013 16:12

With a wrap?

Please not that headband! Not only is it black but it looks cheap and for a child!
