Crows feet - desperate action needed! Tips?

Ladies, please help. I've just turned 36 and I'm feeling OLD! I've always been told I look young for my age. I'm very slim and after battling with PCOS acne throughout my twenties and early thirties I've finally got into a really good skincare regime that keeps the spots at bay and my skin is in good shape generally BUT the one thing that's getting me down is those god damned fine lines that are increasingly not so bloody fine Hmm. I have the kind of face that breaks when I smile and I never wear my specs so I squint a lot. I also drink (and not nearly enough water) plus I have a 2yo so not getting as much sleep as I need.

Does this road always end in botox? I've tried those Miracle Eyes eye-lift things and the non-surgical facelift procedure but both of these things are very short lived. I'm also a big fan of chemical peels. The GA was initially to help with the spots but I've stuck with it.

Anything cheaper that works?

Thanks!!

Wear your glasses. You will look less tired when your child is less demanding, and if you squint less that will help.

Above all, learn to love the face you have - it tells the story of who you are and who you have been.

wear your specs or get some contact lenses. Stop squinting. Moisturise well. Consider botox if it still bothers you (i get it in my number 11s every 8 or 9 months)

OP, I've tried just about every eye cream/gel going and the one I most rate is Avon! It is the Clinical Eye Lift Pro. It has gel for the lid area and a cream for under it. Last time I bought it it was 9.99 on discount. I have a tendency towards spots and some under eye creams make me a bit spotty/blackheady but that cream most certainly doesnt. The gel part is very soothing and makes a good base for eye makeup too.

I wear sunglasses all the time and that certainly also helps.

The only thing that will completely get rid of the crows feet is Botox, sorry to say. This is because crows feet wrinkles are 'dynamic' - caused by movement. Unless you stop the muscles moving that cause the wrinkles, they will continue to get worse over time. Sorry if that is not what you want to hear but it is better to accept the fact. If you hate the thought of Botox, then accept the wrinkles now. Don't waste money on miracle creams trying to treat dynamic wrinkles. Think about it logically - peeling a fine layer off the top of your skin with treatments cannot reverse wrinkles that go all the way through the skin. You could try wear contant lenses to stop the squinting (although it's probably habitual now?), sunscreen to prevent sundamage to the skin of course, and moisturise sensibly. You're probably doing the good skincare stuff anyway.

If you do want to go Botox route, there are plenty of good doctors who offer incentives/discounts for regular customers.

The other thing that will help overall is photorejuvenation IPL. Get it done by a private dermo, or cosmetic doctor, not a beauty salon. it is not too expensive and really gives the skin a boost, it's the sort of thing dermotologists and their staff use routinely on themselves, which tells you something.

Or .... just accept the wrinkles. Obviously some people are better at that than others!

I am strating to get fine lines aswell, but I'm not that brave to go down the botox, filler route, think i will try retin a ( not for crows feet, but nose to mouth lines) also good vitamin c serum.

Thanks so much for replies, all! Annoyingly I don't get on with contact lenses due to astigmatism but will endeavour to wear my specs/sunnies more. That's interesting to hear, Claudia and kind of what I already knew but I guess you live in hope! You seem to be an expert! Would you say therefore glycolic peels are equally futile? I can't justify botox financially at the mo but it's definitely something I'd consider in the future.
