I did use benefit some kind of goregous but ran out and wondered if it is actually the best one. I have very plae skin and it has red tones, red hair. I am approaching the big 40 and have a few creases and a lot of very pale freckels. The other problem is I am lazy, while I will put on a quick powder or cream I have never worn foundation (the liquid stuff) as all the blending just seems to much like hard work and I guarentee after a week I wouldnt be bothered. I work in a hospital so it is vey hot but also spend a lot of time outdoors so can get a bit weathered.
Any beautiful people what would make me look 18 and less wetaherd again? (short of a time machine)

It takes me about 30 seconds to apply liquid foundation - I use Estee Lauder Double Wear but if you're very pale you might struggle with a colour match as the range (whilst it has been expanded recently) isn't huge. The best colour range is probably Illamasqua - I hear great things about their products but I haven't used them myself.

If you find blending hard work you could try using a stippling brush with a liquid foundation - the one on www.makeupgeek.com is great - here. I don't use it with Double Wear as the texture is very quick-setting and it doesn't blend very well with a brush in my view - I use fingers - but it's good for other formulas.

If you want to try Double Wear, go to a counter and they will give you a week's worth to take home and try before you buy.

I buy all sorts of different powders, but the Lily Lolo finishing powder is nice, I like the silk one rather than the matte. Dior loose powder is very fine and the brush that comes with it is useable. If you get a big powder brush (I've got this one) then you just need to sweep it over.

Liquid foundation and powder can be done in 2 mins if you get the right colour match, the right formula and practice a bit.

I like mineral powder foundation but they are better if your skin type isn't too dry.

Dior foundations are very good.

Chantecaille foundation is the lightest with the best coverage that I have ever used but it is quite expensive.

If you want to try Bare Minerals, they do a sample set for free at counter too - just try as many as you can before you choose.

There's also the BB cream option - lots of different brands do these, they're like tinted moisturiser. Not much coverage but good for brightening you up.

I am pale/freckled and use Estée Lauder Double Wear Light, very easy to apply and blend with fingers.

Or on non-spotty days I just use a Clinique tinted moisturiser, even easier, maybe try one of those to start?

MAC studio fix- its changed my life Grin
It makes me feel like my face has been air brushed, it's amazing. I'm very fair, and the colour is perfect for me. It's also nice and light so I don't feel caked in gloop.

I am a complete foundation snob I think I've tried every one out there and face atelier foundation is the best I've ever used, I use mac studio careblend over the top.

cool thanks, so if I go in debenhams or john lewsi and go round the couters they should give me some samples to try. thats good to know as it all so expensive that I dont want to get the wrong one.

The other option Dita is to o to SpaceNK and ask them to help you.

I know the store staff can appear snotty but they are usually lovely.

I go in and say 'help'. They sit me down, try loads of different things on me which I can go and look at in daylight so I know how if feels and what it looks like before I buy. They also give me tips - some are better put on with. Brush, some with fingers for example.

I know some people don't like them but the stores have always been brilliant to me. I use them a lot and they ways give me a bag of samples of ther stuff too.
