Indoor gloves??

I've got Reynaud's syndrome which has come on all of a sudden this winter and is freaking me out!

I often have to attend meetings in rooms which aren't particularly warm - anyone got any suggestions of gloves that won't make me look utterly ridiculous for wearing them indoors? I'm normally typing/writing as well so they need to be reasonably practical...

Plain black fingerless gloves sound like your best bet.

I use plain fingerless gloves when my hands are bad. I get various colours to match outfits/ scarves.

I wear fingerless gloves a lot - including at work. I am of the same opinion as wewereherefirst and have lots in different colours and patterns (mostly ones I have knitted myself)

I wear striking fingerless gloves or use hand warmers. You can buy microwaveable ones or ones with lit charcoal (I think its charcoal dh sorts this one as I'm a bit scared of it) I've had reynauds since 17 people know my statement gloves I think they see it as a quirk but I have many stripey ones, neon ones. I can also suggest glove silks, liners for gloves a wrist bands. And don't worry about what people say. Dh lovingly calls me corpse fingers. Hmm

Try brora cashmere wristwarmers

have you seen a doctor about it? Mine's got really bad this past year and I'm trying something called nifedipin which dilates the blood vessels.

I find I need to cover the ends of my fingers in order to stop the attacks, so I would be more inclined to pull my sleeves over my hands than wear wrist warmers or fingerless gloves. I hope you find something that works for you!

Got GP appt next week, am waiting so I can see the one who's supposed to know a lot about it. I assumed I'd need to cover my fingertips but will give fingerless a try as they'd be easier to work with!

Having read wiki, I'm wondering if its a symptom of under active thyroid as I have other symptoms and that runs in the family...

I wear fingerless mittens when I work from home (and too tight to turn on the heating)

FaffTastic · 21/01/2013 20:25

Fingerless gloves go just above the knuckle so it's only really the tops of your fingers that are still exposed enabling you to still type, write etc - they still keep the majority of the finger warm.

Hello,
no advice re gloves but just to say my DM has this and was advised to give up sugar (she saw a naturopath) along with increasing her intake of omegas and zinc and saw a huge improvement in her condition. Good luck with the glove hunt!
