\link{http://collection.hobbs.co.uk/Main/index.cfm?page=1009&element=1196&parent=1008&numdisplay=0\bought this from hobbs} even though i said i didn't want black.. the spots are ivory.

what do you think - big ivory hat? small hairpiece (snicker - the feathers on a comb variety i mean)?
black or ivory shoes?

or - introduce a colour? red?

yes md, like the chunky 40s shoes thing. is my second link below not on the right tracks (apart from the colour)?

after trying it on again tonight i think i also need a waist-giving piece of underwear to make me look a little more like the mannequin it's on in the link Wink - anyone recommend a suck-it-all-in-and-push-it-out-the-top body thingy?

Bit chunkier I thin.
That is a bit home counties Rotary Club dinner dance.
Platform bit on sole as well as heel and maybe even an ankle strap??
Think wartime jitterbug queen hanging out with GIs.

moondog · 22/04/2006 19:48

Dress is divine btw.

mancmum · 22/04/2006 19:58

such a lovely dress but please not red accessories red and black so cheap looking! Like the idea of jade...

Tutter · 22/04/2006 20:02

lol moondog - last time i recommended some shoes (for piffle) you said they looked like rotary club wives' shoes. guess i'd better go sit down with a nice dubonnet and cheese scone Wink

know what you're talking about - now, go find!

but please - no ankle strap - leg-fattening imo.

mind made up i think on black shoes and bag, and ivory hat.

Lol,thought it was you.
Are yuo a Rotary Club wife with a penchant for dinner dances then??
Admit it,you are. Grin
OK scrap the ankle straps,if you don't think legs up to it.

Tutter · 22/04/2006 20:05

ouch!!! Shock

legs are remarkable. almost too slim (post-ds i think i'm a bit barrel-on-matchsticks). so ner.

Home counties rubbing off on you.
Are you also frequenting boutiques full of floaty outfits for mothers of the bride and buying the Daily Mail??
Stop it!

moondog · 22/04/2006 20:06

Well,if legs are good, you can do the ankle strap thing.

Tutter · 22/04/2006 20:06

don't know what you mean. turquiose frock and gold shoes are the height of good taste...

Luggs · 22/04/2006 20:18

Lovely dress...wear with black shoes IMO as it is a very classic style.

if it works am going to wear it all the time Smile

moondog · 25/04/2006 13:55

Blimey!! Grin

Tutter · 25/04/2006 13:58

i know - may be a little extreme. have also ordered a normal body thingy with tummy hold panel. will see which does the job best (and allows me to consume more than a lettuce leaf).

moondog · 25/04/2006 14:00

No,it should work.
I had something like that (with a bra part) for when I was a bridesmaid. The woman in the very posh frock shop insisted it would look good and she was right.
(Am a size 12)

Twinkie1 · 25/04/2006 14:13

One of those little head band things in your hair with a feather or something on it - they are soooo coool at the mo or a really wide headband.

WOuld stick to Ivory and Black though think any other colour would detract from how pretty the dress is and may look toooo contrived!!!

Tutter · 26/04/2006 09:56

new waist-giving undies just arrived and are wondrous. perfect with the dress. can't bring myself to send back either the corsetty-thing or the body. might be a bit much to wear them both at thje same time but are both so good.

hurrah. may try to find time at the weekend to go hat and shoe shopping.

black shoes and bag, and ivory hat i've decided.
