Can you straighten your hair every day?

When I leave my hair to dry naturally, I look like one of the wild women of Wonga. However, I have recently found that by using my straighteners and turning them 180 degrees about half way down my hair, I can give it a nice curl towards the end and it looks fab.

However, I am worried about the damage caused by straighteners. I have recently started using Kerastase Thermage Conditioner which has really improved the condition of my hair, and I use a pre-styling lotion, but I am still a bit worried.

Does anybody here straighten their hair every day and have healthy hair? If so, how do you do it? Thanks.

www.amazon.co.uk/Kerastase-Paris-Nectar-Thermique-150ml/dp/B001U5B5HQ

Yes, just use this.

Or is that what you are already using? Hmm

Anyway, I straighten my hair most days, and only have it cut about every 4/5 months. OK, the last time might have been Spetember, but I've no split ends.

Watching with interest.

Lynette, do you just use that on wet hair, or is it a conditioner? I'm a bit thick when it comes to hair products.....

Yep, wash and condition, then towel dry, apply nectar thermique, blow dry, then straighten. It's the best product I've ever used on my hair.

I have bleach highlights and have straightened my hair daily for years - it has never grown past my shoulders because of it! My New Year's resolution is to wean myself off my straighteners and this is my method now:

When wet, comb into a neat low side parting and then back into a low twisted bun. Leave for a bit then release hair, it stays flat and smooth on top and the bottom half dries wavy Smile the trick seems to be to take hair out of bun when half dry so it's not set into a total bun shape but has been encouraged to form waves. Is a bit fluffy the same day but the next day it's shiny and wavy as though 'done' the parting keeps the look groomed.

Reviving thread to thank Lynette! Used Thermique for the first time yesterday and despite not using conditioner, my hair is amazingly soft and not it's usual dry, straw like self - even my ends are smooth!! Amazing product, now lets see if I can get my hair a bit longer.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the tip, Lynette. Loads of people must have read it, because Amazon now only have 1 Kerastase Paris Nectar Thermique in stock Grin
