I ran out today and am going shopping tomorrow, so looking for ideas.

I have spot prone skin that is also quite sensitive and prone to dry patches! My skin doesn't get oily/shiny as such, but my make up does tend to rub off quite quickly.

Currently I am wearing no 7 stay perfect foundation in cool vanilla.

Mac careblend powder , matt but not chalky looking gives nice silky finish

I use Clinique loose powder which works well for me. Although you may want to try a primer if your make up rubs off quickly. I'm no expert but the Rimmel one works well on me. I've just got the Nivea primer as it was a fiver but although it feels nice, I'm not convinced that it really keeps my make up on!

I don't wear powder as it is deeply unflattering on my skin and makes me look much older. I wear no7 Intelligent Colour foundation and it doesn't need any powder at all. It is the best foundation I have ever tried.

Last I bought Shiseido and in fact it's light and lovely.

I've tried lots over time, Laura Mercier used to be my favourite but I have since bought the Vichy Dermablend powder and found it to be excellent.

Thank you all! About to venture out in case anyone has any last minute suggestions? I was going to go to John Lewis in the nearest city but the weather has scuppered that! So I am going to have to go to the small family run department store in town instead! So anything I will be likely to get in there or the big boots would be great! Grin

I like the Liz Earle powder. Very light and smooth and doesn't sit in the crevices minor lines in my face

Thanks all,. Went for the Clinique loose powder in the end. Got the hard sell from the benefit lady, but decided against it, because at 24.50 it was a bit pricey, whereas the Clinique one was £20 and had at least received an endorsement on this thread! Grin

Does anyone use Bare Minerals at all?
Any good? (I walked past one of the stands and there are about a billion different shades) Confused

I've got a Laura Geller baked powder (Balance and Brighten) . I don't wear make-up regularly. It's not a 'heavy' cover- but I did have a Blush mis-hap when I decided "Oh, I'll just wax my top lip while I'm doing my armpits" five minutes before I went to pick DD up from school.

The resultant lovely red top lip was nicely disguised by the Balance & Brighten

I feel under pressure now Dr, but hope you're pleased with it! I've been using it for years, since it was about £15 Smile.

JemimaPuddle · 19/01/2013 19:09

I've used bare minerals 70 it's ok but a bit ageing, much prefer balance & brighten.
