What do you think about the false eyelash extensions they glue onto your own at salons? Any good?

We were driving past a popular beauty salon on Sunday and I saw a poster in the window for lashes that are fixed (glued?) onto your own. I am very tempted.

I lost all my hair (head and body) when I had chemo in 2011. My hair grew back thicker than ever but my eyebrows and eyelashes are very sparse indeed. My eyelashes are very fine and short.

Do you think they would be suitable for eyelash extensions? What do they feel like when they're being done and after? Do they feel odd? How much roughly do they cost?

I feel like treating myself.

I hate it when no one responds on my threads, so although I don't have first hand experience of this I thought I should say something!

First, so sorry to hear you had to go through chemo but am very glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery.

A good friend of mine has sparse eyelashes and gets extensions done frequently. She said it's a bit tickly going on but not painful and they last a couple of weeks but never as long as they claim they will last. She has them done for special occasions, going on holiday etc. and says you feel them at first, but get used to it pretty quickly.

Objectively, I think they look amazing and very natural. I think a reputable salon will do a patch test first in case you are allergic to the adhesive?

I have them done and I love them. I go every couple of weeks for infills and I will get them forever. They look natural and save me so much time getting ready - I used to spend so much time trying to make my own lashes look good, usually to no avail!

They can only put one lash onto each lash of your own so you may be restricted by that. Best thing you can do is make an appointment at a salon and see what they say. But I truly love them! Grin I don't know I'm wearing them, you really can't feel them when they're on. I go to a friend's salon and they charge me less but I think their full price is £55 for your first set then about £25 for infills.

Glad you're doing well.

I had them done last year and loved them. I had a woman come to my house and she charged £40 for the first set, unsure how much infills are.

I would love to get them done again-they were very natural and like pp says saved loads of time in the morning. Only thing that I didn't like was I had to stop myself playing with them all the time! They eventually all fell out and I was gutted. The only reason I haven't got them done again is the cost of upkeep! Would love to though

Hope all is ok with your health now :)
