It isn't saebhorric (sp) dermititus have had that previously.

Do the whole thorough washing and rinsing thing but do think it's product residue giving flakes.

Need to condition as my hair (mid length) is coloured.

Thanks

Every so often I get an itchy flakey scalp, switching to a sulphate free range usually sorts it,the best I've tried is the Loreal ever pure range.

L'Oreal Elvive anti dandruff shampoo - not widely available but you can get it in Boots, dark blue bottle with orange lid. You will never need anything else, it's amazing stuff!

Nizoral, it is really good, but quite expensive, about £12 I think. I find it brilliant.

Thanks all. I use Nizoral when I've got dermatitis and it is fantastic. I'll try the sulphate free, I wasn't sure if they were any good.

The Elvive stuff has the same Nizoral look about it but is kinder on the hair, really conditions it and works in the same way that a clarifying shampoo does ime.

I'm a big fan of Philip Kingsley - I buy it off the feelgood website; both the conditioner & shampoo. Marvellous stuff!

Neutrogena t gel shampoo is the only thing that sorts out my dd's really flaky scalp.I get a really itchy inflamed scalp at times and eucerin shampoo works really well on that-its very moisturising and soothing. My mum uses Nizoral and has said it works really well but it is a bad idea to use it all the time [i'm really not sure why though].

T gel. It smells terrible and you need to use a lot of conditioner afterwards to get your hair tangle free, but I've always used a pretty basic conditioner like Head & Shoulders and it seemed to work fine.

Nizoral completely clears your scalp but knackers your hair. It's also pretty powerful stuff and I think the advice is also so you don't become over tolerant of it. I always grimace a bit at the advice to remove jewelry before use incase of staining.......

I'll try elvive and the sulphate free in between.

Ime Elvive is as good as Nizoral and tons better than T Gel, and very kind on your hair - wish I had discovered it years ago!

Interesting about the staining - I take my rings off before using the Elvive as they are silver and when I came out of the shower the first time I used it they were stained black - easily removed by using a silver cloth.
