that once you use them your skin is dependent on them and you cant stop?

Ive always moisturised, for as long as I can remember. Used to be cheap stuff/Body Shop etc. For years I have used Clinique 3 step (missing out step 2) and it has been great at keeping the spots that I am prone to, at bay

I have tried to stop, as part of a money saving exercise, but my skin is a wreck now; lots of spots and angry itchy sensitive skin Sad Its been about a month and it has got progressively worse

I use Clinique for a while and found it made my skin sensitive to anything else I used. Spoke to a mate who had the same experience. Like clarins but my budget doesn't stretch to it. I shall be making my own, just need to get my arse into gear!!

I hate Clarins - I find i so strong my eyes water from the smell!

Idocrazythings · 15/01/2013 16:25

Has to be first thing on the morning khall not totally sure why.

Jux · 15/01/2013 17:17

I hate the smell of Clinique and Clarins.

ATM, because we are seriously broke I am using something from Lidl by Cien. It's OK, actually. Nothing special but will do until I'm rich!

Ido, it has to be sunflower or sesame Oil?

Idocrazythings · 15/01/2013 19:21

JuxNot that I know much about it but they seem to be the advised ones- I'm using sunflower as sesame oil is very strong and I'd be a bit put off trying that! Mines just the cooking sunflower oil I already had in the cupboard- the FB page I initially saw it on, advised coconut oil. I really don't know if something better or more purified?? Should be used

I always used Clinique and quite liked Estée Lauder too- their face cream smelt lovely. Now I have DC I'm reduced to rummaging though the pantry Sad, and getting my hair cut as a hair model! Haven't tried OCM yet will start maybe tomorrow.

FionaJT · 15/01/2013 20:10

I started the OCM in October after reading about it on here. I'd been trying for ages to find a moisturiser than was just right. It's not been a total miracle cure or anything, but I definately feel that my skin has evened out a lot - the dry bits are less dry and the greasy bits don't get as greasy. I just use olive oil as that's what I have, and when I don't do the full cleansing routine I just wash my face with water and smooth on a tiny bit of oil as a moisturiser. So certainly no worse that using lots of products and definately much cheaper!

Khali, well, it was a looong time ago! Clarins I know has a smell - I have some languishing upstairs which I can't bear to use ..... Grin

Until recently I used baby oil for mascara and soap and water for everything else with a spot of No7 day moisturiser about once a fornight. Then I discovered No7s all in one cleansing wipes which I adore.

I'm 52 and have good, clear skin. Think I may have had 6 spots in my entire life. I'm not lined by the way for a 52 year old.

browneyedpixie · 15/01/2013 22:16

No7 hot cloth cleanser is fab for taking make up etc off, cleansing and exfoliating then I use Nivea blue pot and just got Aldis award winning serum too see what the fuss is about
