Y skin just keeps breaking out! It's worse now than it ever was when a teenager... It might be he water area (hard), the fact I've had a small gap between children (hormones?) or that I'm breastfeeding again and not putting enough back in my body?

I'm on week one of taking perfectil, an I also take breastfeeding vitamins..

What else can I do? And what skin care regime is best for acne prone?

When I'm pregnant (been twice) my skin is beautiful!

After wasting lots of money on all sorts of cosmetics to sort out my slight acne, I had Dalacin prescribed by my GP. Within a month, it was all gone. I wished I had asked sooner, rather than waiting years to do anything about it.

I was on creams from the GP, antibiotics, different pills, homeopathy, facials, laser, you name it! I didn't get bad acne until I was 23 or 24 either and I didn't have children at that stage.

I needed up with a consultant dermatologist. She prescribed me Roaccutane. You won't be able to take it if you are breast feeding or if you're trying to conceive. I was on it for 6 months and it was the only thing that worked for me.
I literally spent 000's before I saw her.

I forgot to say that Dalacin is quite mild and non-drying, so I didn't end up peeling off like with some stronger treatments. I guess this is the mildest thing they prescribed before you go into some "serious" medicines. It worked for me, so I feel very lucky.

I've been taking oral antibiotics for years and combine those with a glycolic-based skincare routine (Murad & MD Formulations, mainly). That's the only thing that works for me (and really, if the acne is bad enough to be called acne, no amount of good skincare will do any good; you need to fight it with the power of drugs...).

I'm 37 and have suffered from acne since teens. It got really bad recently and I went under the care of a dermatologist. After much palava she prescribed roaccutane. Still got one month of the course left to do but it's amazing.

Just wish I'd done it earlier. Would have saved lots of money and would have a lot less scarring too.

Good luck, it is not much fun!

I used to have quite spotty skin which cleared up once I started using a cream cleanser and a muslin morning and night and i also find that exercise helps, I think all the sweating keeps my pours clean. I use The Sanctuary which keeps my skin clear but I think it's more the method of washing with a muslin that works for me.

I was just spotty, it wasn't acne which I had in my teens and as others have said i had medication from the Dr for that.
