Help! Sweatpants for slim boys!

My 6yr old DS is tall (124cm) and slim and I'm having a devil of a job to find sweatpants to fit him. Even H&M ones fall off him and their trousers are normally okay as their waists are adjustable. I've tried all the usual suspects such as M&S. Next, etc but they're all too big.

I'm happy to adjust elastic in the waists but find the only way to do it with the vast majority is to unpick 3 rows of stitching, adjust the elastic and then restitch the 3 rows which is a real faff with 3/4 pairs! They used to just have a length of elastic within a 'pocket' but now the elastic is entirely stitched over with a number of rows. Grrrrrr!

Has anyone come across fully adjustable sweatpants for boys?

John Lewis do some. My two year old is skinny and these are the only adjustable ones I've found

Thanks. I've looked before but never found any on their website. Just checked again and they only have an elasticacted waistband with drawstring detail, and so aren't fully adjustable. :-(

Oh bun! Sorry! They must have stopped doing them. Hmmm, now I'm going to be searching too!

I am seaarching for the same thing so bumping

ggirl · 07/01/2013 16:36

lands end say they're adjustable

ggirl · 07/01/2013 16:38

they don't have navy though , which is what I need

EasyFromNowOn · 07/01/2013 17:33

have you tried zara? don't think they are adjustable but they are the only ones I have found where my DS doesn't need them adjusting. Also they tend to be long, so you can go down a size, which helps too.

Shattereddreams · 07/01/2013 17:52

Landsend tend not to be skinny at all in my opinion.

Nowhere is skinny these days and everyone is putting fake drawstrings on everything. Driving me bananas

I've given up for ds , he either braves it in shorts or wears under armour type leggings under shorts

I got tall skinny DS a pair of age 7 GAP tracksuit trousers and they have a functional drawstring. They are still WDW on him but I can hoik them in and tie the drawstring so they don't fall down. He is 126cms and has the waist of a 2 year old. In fact Gap jeans are the few that fit him. (though I wish somewhere cheaper did!) he s 6 too.

I buy the boden ones for my ds. They are slim in the leg and fit nicely round the waist. My ds is skinny and I've found these to be really good.

Your boy is the same height as mine, and my wee boy is slim too. I get his joggy bottoms from Primark and they fit him fine. £3.50 a pair.

Thanks so much for the replies!

Will take a look at Gap (if they have slim legs too), Boden and the sports brands. I've tried the others.

To be honest, a functional drawstring would be great, particularly if there is a toggle to help young boys get themselves dressed.
