I'm sure this has been done before, I've looked though the archives but got over whelmed! I'm trying for the new year new me sort of thing, have bought a bit of make up and now need some good eye cream/moisturiser.
I'm mid forties, normal skin. Looking for something that makes a difference but doesn't cost the earth.
Please share your experiences with me!Smile

The bobbi brown eye cream is lovely, was about £40 though, it's in a heavy glass jar, not too keen on having to dunk my finger in, have had it a few months and it still looks new only need a little, I will buy it again and will maybe try the rest of the skin care range. Before I discovered the bobbi brown one cliniques all about eyes I had repurchased a few times. Don't bother with Estée lauders one in a green tube with the ceramic end idealist something, was rubbish and glittery.

I have used liz earles cleanser and moisturisers for years but the last couple of weeks my skin has gone all sensitive oddly, an oil used at night is lovely.

I keep hearing about la Roche posay and avene ranges, have only used the high SPF for the face in the summer.

I've recently come to love Clinique's All About Eyes. Skin feels nice and looks smoother, healthier - and I am plagued by insomnia and tired looking peepers.

I wore the Boots Protect and Perfects (?) stuff previously for 6 months but nothing came of it.

Clinique cost £24, so expensive but not unacceptable considering you use a tiny dot per application so pot will last a long time.

Origins ginseng (?) eye cream is v nice

QWERTYmonster · 06/01/2013 12:39

I'm not convinced that any creams really make a difference, to be honest - some just smell nicer than others.

I like Origins Ginzing too, but it hasn't made any difference to my bags, it's just got a long-lasting whitening/slightly pearlised finish that makes the dark circles look a bit better. Have tried the Lancome Genefique eye cream too: no difference whatsoever.

I've never, ever used a face cream that's made any difference at all. I think it's all a bit emperor's new clothes.

Lovely eyecreams... Dermalogica total eyes, spf and slightly tinted, fab. Pricey.
For puffiness the best is clarins gel
All rounder would be the trilogy roll on one, recently starting using this, love it. Packed with natural stuff, feels nourishing.

Aldi lacura range. About 3 pounds each but have won loads if beauty awards etc. i love them

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/01/2013 13:16

I've just started using Superdrug's Vitamin E range which costs pennies and tbh I'm quite impressed. I'm using a Vitamin E SPF radiance moisturiser and the eye cream in the mornings, and the face oil at night. They were on offer at about £2 each.

The eye cream is the least impressive of the three so far. Before that I had a REN one which felt lovely (a gel so all cooling and refreshing - it was brilliant on planes!) but again, I'm not sure it actually did much.

Clinique dramatically different moisture lotion combined with the all about eyes cream is the way forward.

I did have an Estée Lauder demo recently in which an eye cream was used that I swear to God made me look like I'd had an eye lift. On enquiry I found is was £200 a go. I haven't got that kind of money, but if I did I'd have this in a shot. Even DH noticed!

Snowkey · 06/01/2013 14:59

I use Aragon oil on my eyelids - moisturisers can make them go puffy.

The Superdrug range Remus mentioned is very good. Liz Earle moisturiser smells of fish! I also like the Body Shop aloe vera range.

bigbuttons · 06/01/2013 20:10

oh good I'll check out the aldi and superdrug ones. I read somewhere today that good 'ol glycerine mixed with water is a very good moisturiser. I shall give that a go too.
I fought some super super expensive REN rose serum recently. It got rave reviews everywhere. Anyhoo it gives me the most horrendous breakouts. Normally be skin is as tough as old boots, not at all sensitive to anything. It fell on the floor and the bottle smashed within days of me getting it. I scraped what I could back in the bottle whilst weeping. Now I'm weeping because it cost me loads and I can't use the stuff.
I'll avoid the fishy liz Earl thenWink
