Curling tong for pre-teen

A friend has suggested a curling tong for her daughter's birthday. As I have very short hair I have no idea what to buy. Budget up to £30. Help please?!

I would buy a wand - maybe one that comes with a heatproof glove. I've got a Remington Pearl (I think...), £30 is plenty enough to get a good brand. If she has very long hair I would go for one with a wider barrel to make the curls softer and enable her to curl the whole length in one go. You can get ones with interchangeable barrels too, but they may cost more I'm not sure. The heatproof glove is to stop you from burning your fingers when you hold the hair onto the wand.

Maybe this wide-barrelled one?

I know an 11 year old who got a Babyliss 12 in 1 multi styler for Christmas and loves it. Sorry I can't do links but its around 22 pounds on Amazon. The crimping attachment seems to give most fun!

My dd prefers curling wand to tongs.

DD2 has had a curling wand since she was about 9, she is very good at using the mat.

Several years later, desk and polished table are still intact.

She would also recommend a big sister to help with yours and to have longer hair to practice on.

However, they are not available from Argos.
