Can you recommend a warm but stylish dressing gown?

Going to give myself a late Christmas present; I need a new dressing gown. We live in a cold house, so I will be wearing it a lot in the winter, for watching TV, feeding the rabbit before dawn, etc, so needs to be cosy, washable ... but beautiful!

I have a white company dressing gown, brown velour (which sounds nasty written down but it's lovely and luxurious)

Check out Oysho, they have some really nice things. Sale on too at moment.

Oh all the dressing gowns seem to be bleddy fleece nowadays, everywhere you look.

It's devilishly hard to get a towelling one, but that may not be what you're after anyway?

The woman on the jack reacher film
Has a lovely one

I got one from monsoon for Christmas, it's a fine fleece one. Lovely and soft and warm, really like it

I forced my husband to buy for me for Christmas a couple of years ago, a double sided flannel dressing gown from Toast. Maybe not glamorous exactly but definitely stylish in a Toast-y sort of way. And we live in cold house with dog related early garden excursions and its never let me down. You might be lucky in the sale. If not, I'd wait for next winter and carry on with a hotchpotch of leggings, jumpers and fleeces in the meantime (i'm guessing). Its that good!

Not cheap, but I think these Liberty print cotton-wool mix dressing gowns from Brora are lovely, especially in the peacock feather print: www.brora.co.uk/Product/Product.aspx?WebShopCodeStr=A2&WebSegmentCodeStr=S2&WebCategoryCodeStr=CX&StyleCodeStr=DG1201#

Some good recommendations here

The White Company always has discount codes too Grin

I bought myself a white company super absorbent toweling one in grey after seeing it recommended on here. It is soft, warm, absorbent and has a hood which dries your hair. I have been wearing it for about a month solidly. You need to use a code though so that you have a bargain.

I like mine from sainsburys Grin

Toast also do nice ones, but a bit expensive and probably for the super tall.
They have started to bug the hell out of me this past 12 months because they list more sold out items on their site than actual available items.
I don't want to see what isn't gonna come back in stock so please remove it. I've been pining over a sold out scarf for 4 months. Why is it still sitting there, goading me? Bastards.

AwkwardSquad · 03/01/2013 18:44

I got a gorgeous one from Toast for Christmas. My best present Smile. It is rather long though, so any shorter than 5 ft 7 and you'd be tripping over it.

How much do you want to spend? Check out Boux Avenue - I have a pale blue with whiye stars one from there and love it.

Ooh ooh or this one from Joules

My husband bought me an amazing turkish cotton bathrobe recently from the www.thereachlondon.com I would highly recommend it. It is really warm and luxurious! Smile
