Would you ask a friend to do a Trinny&Susanna on you?

I am edging towards thinking I need to re-invent myself: I spend virtually no time or money on personal grooming or style, have never worn make-up, and when I'm not working I just slob around in jeans and fleece tops.

I'm now edging towards 40 and suddenly feel the need to change my wicked ways.

It's far too big a job for you lot to handle, and I feel I really need some hands on, face-to-face advice. I have a friend who I think would quite enjoy it as a challenge. But I'm a little nervous about asking her, what do you think?

if she was a good friend, and someone i can take critisism from, then yes.

Go for it! Who could turn down £2,000 on a new wardrobe Grin

You have to get selected first of course!

JoolsToo · 14/04/2006 11:23

oh! and if you do - tell them to keep their mitts away from your boobs! Grin

OH! ha, ha, how stupid of me! Grin

Oh well, it's a no brainer then isn't it - get your credit card out Grin

I definitely would, but I'd rather T&S did it. You might fall out with your friend about this, particularly if she starts grabbing your breasts.

scoobytwo · 14/04/2006 15:25

I had my colours done by a friend who's a House of Colour consultant, although we did it very informally. It's lovely when I see her and she compliments me on my outfit.

You've nothing to lose by asking your friend to consider it.

Me and a friend did it for one another really informally - went through each other's wardrobes, tried stuff on together and were honest about it. I started wearing lots more colour and she stopped showing off her scrawny ribcage (she is very slim). It was a good exercise I think - but as soon as we both had kids we just reverted to whatever was clean...

Pruni · 15/04/2006 15:09

Of course that should be "A friend and I"

lilstarry1 · 15/04/2006 21:33

Have you heard about the nights certain groups of friends hold where they take along the clothes they no longer fit into/like and swap? A fun idea..

I say go for it, I mean a true friend should be relied on to be honest and understanding.

I also recommend a good haircut, always boosts my confidence!
