I had thought of these Karen Millen shoes but I don't want to make a mistake.

I wear size 40/7.

Any help or suggestions really appreciated!

Ooh, I like! How often will you be able to wear them? Are you envisaging these being your "best shoes" for some years? I'm not sure that really works, as shoes really change year to year. You might be better off getting something you will wear three/four times a week for the next couple of years, in terms of outlay-per-wear.

Lk bennett is your friend. You will easily get a pair under £100 in the sale or at one of their outlets.

Off to check L K Bennett!! I want them to last 2 years at least blue

I am going to need to make a similar purchase soon, but due to horrible misshaped feet they also need to be comfy - how are LK Bennett on comfort?

LittlePandaBear · 24/12/2012 10:54

Love the Karen Millen ones. LK Bennett ones are nice but boring!

MamaGeekChic · 24/12/2012 11:09

I think if it is a pair of classic shoes OP wants then LKBs fit the bill perfectly, they may be 'boring' but they don't date, are quite comfortable and go with most things- I have a pair of black and a pair of nude patent shilo pumps and they are my fallback shoe for most occassions (and perfect for work).

polyhymnia · 24/12/2012 16:57

I think L K Bennett much better bet for classic but not boring than Karen Millen. Also very much recommend Russell and Bromley - in fact, like them even better than LKB. They have a website now.

EuroShagmore · 24/12/2012 17:34

LK Bennett are definitely a good option for classic. I have some high heels from there that are surprisingly comfortable.

polyhymnia · 26/12/2012 12:46

Agree they are comfortable. Ditto Russell and Bromley.

I have wide feet, a bit lumpy and bumpy (probably in denial about bunions) and found heaven in a pair of Duo platform courts this autumn. Quite high heels, very elegant and about £100 I think. Every single man who has seen me in them has admired them, and they got DH quite excited! I am someone who tought they would really have to give up on heels and now I have apair that look the part and feel as comfy as slippers. I think they may have sold out of that style but there are other nice shoes in the sale.

higgle · 27/12/2012 10:54

I have found them on the sale page! now £95, even if OP doesn't like them I'd recommend for all knobly footed persons who want to look as if they are not.
here

LKB or R&B much better bet than KM, which always says footballers wife to me and the quality isn't up to scratch. Another place to look is the Outnet these are a smudge over budget, but v classic and lovely!
