Do I buy large rollers or a cheapo curling wand......I'm a bit cack handed with styling and have just past shoulder length hair.....what do you reckon

big velcro rollers are way easier (for me) than styling wands to use.

Hippychickster · 19/12/2012 18:45

No no!!! The best thing for wavy hair is a massive crimper thing. There is a picture of me on my profile with my hair done with mine. I have really straight hair normally.

I LOVE my crimper!

Rip off curlformers like the modern day equivalent of putting your hair in rags, except you don't need to do it overnight

Wet it, plait it, sleep on it.

DeafLeopard · 19/12/2012 22:41

YY Bof I think someone hit babelfish before they started listing on ebay.

They are dead easy - it's basically a hollow curly tube that you pull your hair through with a big crochet hook, but really effective. DD does Irish Dancing where it is all ringlets and wigs and she can curl her own hair with these whereas I wouldn't let her loose with straighteners (she's nearly 9)

ATouchOfStuffing · 19/12/2012 22:44

Have you tried just using mouse for curly hair and scrunching it when part dry with your hands? I have a slight natural wave and tip head upside down and do this with a little help from my hairdryer and it gives a natural looking wave and body without looking too forced.

Boozeandadietjinglebell · 20/12/2012 07:47

I have the Cloud Nine O rollers. They're great fun but perfect for what I want them for - wavy and volume and 'done' rather than lots of curls which I get from my Babyliss thermo ceramic rollers.

CuttedUpPear · 20/12/2012 07:54

I've got Babyliss Hot Sticks. They are bendy things that heat up. I spray some hair thickening spray on and wrap my air around them, then feed one end through the loop on the other end and pin in place. Leave til dry and tease out.

It's given my fine, straight hair a completely new lease of life.

I've found that velcro rollers just tangle my hair and it's such a job to get them out that my hair goes straight again.

Startail · 20/12/2012 07:57

DDs plait theirs or tie socks in it like old fashioned rag curls.
