Make up for crepeys

hello. After a dispiriting trawl through YouTube I really feel I need the advice of some fellow crepeys on make up. Most official brands demonstrate the full face make up on someone who is already flawless. So can you talk me through a full make up for a 47 year old person with lines under the eyes, lines at the side of the mouth, bags, wrinkles and a large glass of wine in one hand. I usually bang on some eye pencil and lippy and that's it.

I have started to use a moisturising oil, it really seeps into my skin and plumps it up.

I mix bb cream with tinted moisturiser. No7 BB and laura mercier. Then blusher and lots of mascara. Define brows with a light pencil and brush through with an old mascara brush with a bit of colour left on it. I have always done this and it really works. Then line lips with a natural pencil and fill in with clear gloss for day or deeper for pm. No eyeshadow or powder or liner. Finally brush over whole face with guerlain meteorites Sounds loads but takes me 5 mins

Some primers are literally like poly filler. Clarins does one in a red pot. You don't need much and it leaves ur skin silky soft.

I use mineral powder (Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish) and make sure I buff, buff, buff so it doesn't settle in the creases. I also use it on my eyelids as a good base.

I've always hated foundation (specifically the mask-like feeling from having something sitting on your skin all day), so make do with a tinted moisturiser (currently Olay Total Effects).

Never done blusher in my life! I think it's because I used to blush easily as a teen so didn't feel it necessary to add to the general pinkness, and never got into the habit. Although perhaps I should start; after all, at the age of 46, after three children, not a lot makes me blush nowadays.

I cannot wear minerals as yes, it does sit in lines.
I wear very minimal foundation of BB cream, then do concealing (not eyes), very light brush over with powder and then do eyes.
I found that it was the powder that was ageing me so now I literally do a quick tickle over with a brush.
Eyes...I cannot wear anything on my lower lids as it looks just awful and highlights any under eye lines.
I do brows, do some top eyeliner (very blended in), very light shading , curl eyelashed and do mascara.
Then I conceal under eye or it all reflects and makes me look like I have dark panda eyes.
Then blush and lips...the main thing has been trying to find the right shade lipstick as I cant wear any of the colours I used to
btw Im 47.

Oh, and I just use any old cheap shit like aldi etc

CointreauVersial · 17/12/2012 00:25

I just realised I said I'm 46. I'm still 45. God, have I reached that stage when you can't remember how old you are...?Xmas Confused

For those interested. I got a no.7 tinted moisturiser, a pot of blusher by Bourgeois, some brushes and a no.7 palette with three concealer shades in it.
When it's all on I look less shadowy, feel slightly mask like but my daughter approved.
Possibly because she got the No.7 freebie out of it.
