Greasy skin, but with patches of bad excema. I am looking bloody gorgeous. WTF can I do about it?

I always get little patches of excema when I am stressed/lacking sleep/eating badly, but they normally clear up as soon as life returns to normal. However, I have have been battling the latest outbreak for a couple of months now, and it is driving me bonkers! It is mostly on my face, with one or two other patches elsewhere on my body, which are healing ok as they aren't exposed to the cold weather/covered with make up (which then has to be removed. ouch!) etc.

I have greasy skin and am prone to spots too, so I can't use anything too rich over my whole face.

I used to do OCM, but really don't have the time or the inclination any more, so I use a mild cream cleanser, v gentle toner and moisturiser. I have used to same brand for over a year, so not concerned that it's a reaction, but I don't think the bran I use is gentle enough to help my skin recover from bloody sore excema.

I've been wondering if something like la Roche posay or dr hauschka would help, but I'm not sure. Has anyone found anything that is gentle enough to use on sore excema skin and helps prevent it recurring once it's healed? Or is there something topical i can just apply to dry bits that won't sting like burrery? the bog standard excema cream i got from boots stings when i apply it, and doesn't seem to be making a difference. Help!

My skin loves this when it is feeling fragile, I am dry though, but it says for all skin types, it is very soothing to the patches of excema I get around my eyes.

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast is amazing at clearing up eczema. It's very gentle but effective. Not sure how it would be on your oily skin though. There is a baume (balm ) which is really thick, but also a lighter lotion, I believe. Although that's not so effective, I've heard. Still works, but a more gentle strength. Anyhow, it's the only thing I've tried on my daughter's eczema that actually works from the first application.

Have you tried 99% Aloe Vera gel on the eczema? i know that jojoba oil is good for greasy skin. Another thing you can do is look at prevention;I used to have eczema until I stopped eating tomatoes, oranges and drinking orange juice and using vinegar and it ALL cleared up Xmas Grin

Also take some EFAs (essential fatty acids) linseed oil and or Evening primrose or starflower oil. Liz Earle cured her eczema when she took these.

Thanks for the ideas!

I will hunt down those wash/lotion suggestions, thanks.

pp hadn't really thought of eliminating things/taking extra supplements, will research that a bit further. I would be a happy bunny if I could avoid break outs like this!

I also found that giving up orange juice helped. The only cream that works for me is Neutrogena Norwegian formula dermatological cream from Boots.
