FOUNDATION BRUSHES- YES OR NO?

Are they a waste of money? And do they waste a lot of foundation? I suppose I am tempted but can't quite see how they do the job better than warm fingers to blend in all the crevices!

If you are a convert which brands would you suggest?

OP, a synthetic bristle brush shouldn't absorb product - but a natural hair bristle will. So you may use more if you buy e.g. a badger hair brush but shouldn't do if you use one with synthetic bristles. The Real Techniques brushes are synthetic and have excellent reviews - I've asked for a set of eye brushes for Christmas! I would normally very very very slightly dampen a foundation brush before using, but hardly at all - just a smidge and pat it on a towel, check by brushing it on the back of your hand that it doesn't feel wet/damp.

I use the Makeupgeek stippling brush which you can get from www.makeupgeek.com in the 'store' section. It's brill. I don't use it every day as too lazy, I just blob a bit of foundation on the worst bits of skin and rub it on Blush but it's great using the stippling brush when I can be arsed for a very even, smooth, fine finish.

I hadn't used a Foundation brush until I was recommended a company called Crownbrush, I always felt that using a brush was a waste of time and very expensive. But after reading all the amazing reviews about this company Im a convert, I understand from listening to Youtube and reading reviews they make brushes for Mac and lots of other big companies, and they are a fraction of the price... check them out www.crownbrush.co.uk

Truely AMAZING!!!

Yes yes yes to the brush. I stopped wearing foundation as it always looked patchy. Woman at Lancôme counter showed me how & it's brilliant. I use hardly any I think there is less wastage with a brush

Not sure if it helps but, I have always used fingers to apply concealer under my eyes. I'm 50 so, for a long time! Last Saturday, bought a concealer brush and was amazed a) by how little product is used and b) just looks so much smoother and doesn't settle into small lines developing (cause at 50, I've earned them!) in my eye circle area.

I will definitely invest in a foundation brush.

Best I've ever tried is definitely the Real Techniques brush...think it was only a tenner. Better than MAC imo. I dot it quickly all over my face then buff in and gives a flawless finish.
