Acne scarring on face

I've had quite obvious (to me anyway) red scarring on my chin for over 20 years. I wear foundation every day to try and cover it up. It works for a couple of hours but soon rubs off (and I have tried all sorts of different foundations) and the scars soon show through.

I'm sick and tired of it. If I could change just one thing about my appearance, I would choose that.

Does anyone know of a permanent solution? Such as laser treatment? Does it work? How much would it cost?

Hi april I am not sure about laser, but I think the obagi nu derm system is good for acne scarring and pigmentation. The other treatment I have heard of is the dermaroller, it looks scary though.

Hope this helps.

Would you consider Fraxel laser treatment? I have some scarring too, and did a few sessions of this. I can't say I'm scar free, but my skin tone is much better, with some improvement in the scars. I do need a few more sessions, but I cannot budget for them right now. It is expensive, about £400 a go, depends on how much of your face needs to be done, but I think (I might be wrong) it's the gold standard for treating acne scars.

I agree with Tilly, that dermaroller stuff looks scary.

IPL/laser treatment may work well for the red scars.
Obagi will help with pigmentation, acne and mild acne scars and would work well with a series of derma roller.
The derma roller will do a similar job to that of fraxel but will prob cost less.

Heal Gel is brilliant for scarring!

It was developed by plastic surgeons for post operative and cosmetic surgery.

Victoria Health is where I buy it, it's pricey but worth it in my opinion anyway Xmas Grin
