Eyebrow pencil for dark hair

Can anyone recommend a cool/ashy dark brown brow pencil please? Brow hairs are black (but black pencil looks odd on IMO) and I have dark olive/tan skin. All the dark brown pencils I tried on in Boots were too warm. I have a eyeshadow that I use already but need a pencil for a bit more definition.

I liked the colour of a Benefit pencil I tried but formula was too soft and waxy.

I'll have a look at that one next time I get to a big town, my Eyelure is getting very short now. Glad you found one you like.

I've used the Rimmel dark brown one for years. It stays on all day. But if you've tried them all in boots you may have already ruled that out!

You're the same colouring as me. I tried Mac eyebrow pencil, Strut, but didn't get on with it. I then bought Benefit Brow-zings in Medium and I wouldn't be without it. You get a little compact with coloured wax and a powder, two brushes for application and mini-tweezers.

Whoknows - I couldn't find the Eylure pencil anywhere (looked in 3 different Boots!) hence having to fork out £££'s on the Clinique one! But the texture is just right, not too soft like the Benefit one or too hard like the Rimmel one.

Actually Une had some good cool toned brow pencils too but only had a tester in the colour I wanted!

have you thought about one of those eyebrow dye kits ? there is a dark brown which I use & that doesn't have any red or warmth really.

You leave it on for 2 mins but you could try a min just to see. Very cheap too, from ASDA, Superdry, Boots etc.

Thanks willow, but my brow hairs are naturally black and a fairly good shape so don't need darkening, just filling in gaps/thickening where the threading lady has been over enthusiastic!

HD Brows palette in Vamp.

About 20 quid, not available on the high street but can be found on amazon or eBay.

Best money I've spent - and I had the exact same problem as you. I've only had mine a month, but my friends has had hers for a year, and there's still loads left.

It's a quad of black, and a mid and light cool brown, with a taupe for the under brown. Comes in a lovely compact with a huge mirror and little angled and round brushes. Still small enough to stick in your handbag though for touch ups Grin

See I get the point of all these palettes for those with lighter skin/hair (if you frequently dye/highlight your hair or self tan) as you may need to adjust your brow colour accordingly. But as I'm dark haired and dark skinned I just don't think I would need 2/3 shades of brown/grey surely? Or am I totally wrong?

Yes, I tried a palette and it was a waste of money really as even the darkest shade was too light, luckily it was cheap. I have really sparse brows, not enough to dye and anyway the hairs are almost black so no point dying them. It's the skin in between that needs colouring for me, so powders are not enough.

I bought shiseido pencil from eBay this week-i have black eyebrows too it's the perfect colour -quite cool-and much more natural than the benefit pallet I've been using.
