CALLING ALL WIIIIIIIIDE FEET LADIES, help me please.

Hello, please help me and my moosive feet.

My feet are like EEE or EEE width fitting tho only a size 6 so I prefer round toe styles to make my feet look cute and like they belong to an actual lady person. But depending on the cut of the shoe or boot, sometimes I still can't get my feet in Blush. So no pull-on styles.

I recently tried an extra wide fit pair from Evans that I couldn't even get on. Clarks don't have anything I want that will fit me at the moment, I basically hate everything available from the specialist wide-feet websites as they don't have much in real leather and the styles are a little Hmm.

So my question is, can anyone who also has flippers tell me if they have had any luck with any particular Fly London or Dr Marten boots or shoes? I kind of need to know the actual style as it varies so much, thank-you please and thank-you again. Or similar, anything, any brand, made of leather or suede and no more than inch high heel at the most, anything, anything, except a welly.

Yes as soon as you'd posted an example I realised that my super wide boots weren't what you were going to be looking for

I'm watching with interest though

rozdoylesnaughtydrawer · 08/12/2012 22:30

Thanks Sauvs but Shoe Tailor has all the same brands as Viva La Diva et al and not quite what I want....too many buckles and embellishments and moulded soles and shininess, or something.

I want leathery-looking looking leather, probably stitch-down/rubber soles type thing, more like Fly London or DMs I suppose.

No advice on specific styles but I tend to have to buy shoes on the basis they fit me rather than because I like them. When I find a pair I like and don't look like I borrowed them from my Granny I buy a couple of pairs.

I daren't show you my latest pair, they are too scarey. My DD refers to them as my gnome shoes. Wedges are usually a better bet for me than heels.
I also find kids shoes can fit OK, I am size 5 1/2.

rozdoylesnaughtydrawer · 08/12/2012 22:33

I agree with you Doris!

JustFabs what type caterpillar boots do you have? I am currently wearing £5 Donnay knockoffs from Sports DirectConverse and probably could wear most trainers but really want something slightly more weatherproof/leathery!

Thanks everyone for all suggestions so far!

CaHoHo I would love to buy a few pairs if I could afford it...my plan is probably to spend more than I wanted too on a good quality pair of leather boots that would then last at least a couple of winters hopefully.

New Look have recently started doing an extra wide fit aswell, which is too big for me but the wide fit ones fit me perfectly, so maybe the new fit might work for you? Don't know if they're doing boots in that fit too (and probably not the quality you're looking for) but for flats/heels, might be worth a second try?

rozdoylesnaughtydrawer · 08/12/2012 22:40

I suppose I should also say I would prefer zips to laces etc as I find that getting out of the house with a toddler is easiest if I can do stuff like put shoes on very quickly!

What I am really hoping for is that someone will come along and say THESE ONES WILL PROBABLY FIT YOU by Fly London as i like quite a few of theirs though have already had to return one pair as couldn't jam my meaty dogs into the darn things.

Ta Anna, had a look but didn't find anything in my size...I don't mind buying a couple of pairs of cheaper ones if I like them, I guess, I'm just so bored of the endless searching, then returning them that I think I would rather get some that cost beyond my budget and then just never take them off!

Jins Maybe I'll get These and be happy ever after! They are the prettiest wellies I've seen!

NOT THE PINK ONES! LINK WAS FOR NAVY!! I'm not that bad....

OP posts:
Jins · 08/12/2012 23:08

Yep the pink's not good Grin

Crocs are really wide. Really really wide. I'm debating a pair of the court shoe type things in the work range but I need to see them in real life first

rozdoylesnaughtydrawer · 08/12/2012 23:12

Trouble is, it's just not the time of year to go within a handbag's whack of a shopping centre now is it though?

Ok, I've got this problem sussed. I have horrendously wide feet, with freaky long toes, bunions (nice) and I have to wear orthotics because I'm hypermobile and have flat feet and hip problems unless I wear the right shoes. The rest of me is tall (over 5'8) and a size 10, so I've had to find shoes that don't make my feet look ridiculous compared to the rest of me. I also have to wear round toed footwear.

My staple, to wear with skirts and skinny jeans, are Spanish riding boots. they're round toed and wide, but fitted to the leg and are incredibly flattering. Mine (I have 3 pairs) are from the Really Wild Company, but I got them all from Ebay as I wasn't prepared to pay full price. My calves are bog standard size, and I fit the regular RWC size perfectly.

For work, I wear Valetta by Hotter in extra wide - these are the only ones of the current Hotter styles I'd consider and they make my feet look very neat.

The other staple are Petra pumps by Hassia - available from Peter Hahn or Cheerful Soles. They are very wide, but quite flat and make my feet look a normal width, whilst accommodating my freaky toes. The Peter Hahn website has a number of very wide makes, but you have to steer your way between the frumpy styles to find the acceptable ones.

Article in The Guardian today on just this ish-shoe.
(See what I did there?)

BikeRunSki · 08/12/2012 23:55

Fly London too narrow even for normal feet! But I do have the DM Authentic Wedge Boot in 3 colours accumulated over the years as they are fab, go with everything, warm, waterproof and fit my hoof like feet and massive calfs.

maxmissie · 09/12/2012 00:07

I have awful wide feet as well as them being two sizes apart - my left foot is a size five (and at it's widest point is approx. 11.5cm) and my right foot is a size 7 (and slightly narrower than the other). No idea what proper size width they are but they are an absolute nightmare to buy for and always my left shoe doesn't fit properly and ends up ruined. But anyway...

I tend to buy trainers but have managed to occasionally (very occasionally!) to get my feet into a couple of pairs of New Look's summer shoes, but by the end of the summer they have holes in the side! Weirdly couldn't get into their extra wide shoes!

Next do wide fitting shoes but can't get my feet into them at all - however last week noticed they now do a extra wide fit Next Extra Wide Fit and bought myself some of the sparkle peep toe court shoes. They only had four pairs in the shop but they have more online. Think they are EEE width. Are quite comfortable for heels but I can barely walk in them as I never buy heels as can't usually fit into them and am 5'10" so don't really need them either!

Have previously bought Fly London MOLs and they fit fine but these look a bit taller than mine.

Also have pair of Fly London Yakins which fit fine width wise but sadly the toes on my left foot don't peep out the end!

Also recently bought Oslo Merrells which are really wide and very comfortable - they are also quite on the large size so I wish I'd bought a size six instead of seven.

Am coveting some Dr Martens Tanas but they seem to have been discontinued so are either only available in very small sizes or are extremely expensive. No idea if they will be OK width wise but have seen them on someone else and they look like they would be OK.

Birkenstocks are the only sandals I have found that are any good for the summer. Can't find any others at all. Also struggle with work shoes so still wear a knackered low heel pair of shoes from ASDA that I randomly found once there and which are wide fit. Have never seen any wide fit shoes in there since!

Hope this helps! Will be bookmarking for some more ideas.

rozdoylesnaughtydrawer · 09/12/2012 00:37

Must go to bed, must go to bed, arrrgh. Thanks all!

Fozzley thanks, but the Really Wild ones are a bit too horsey for me (RIDING BOOTS! I know, who'da thunk it?) and too buckle-y, though they do look v. nice quality I have to say.

Apologies, hope not offending anyone with my fussiness!

Bike that's handy thanks, those have been on my list for ages but kept hearing they come up narrow so been umming for ages.

Max above and beyond, what a legend! I quite like those Tanas as well.

I buy Ecco and brasher. Comfy, relatively cool and not depressing at all Grin

rozdoylesnaughtydrawer · 09/12/2012 00:42

In the end I have bought these questionable but cute-ish Blowfish Rabbit boots to keep me going as they are only £33 quid so although not real leather I can chuck them on for dashing to nursery/park etc while I keep on looking for THE ONE/s.

I hope they fit, my knockoff Converse have got holes in and my socks are getting wet whenever I go anywhere.

OP posts:
rozdoylesnaughtydrawer · 09/12/2012 00:44

Not heard of Brasher before, quite like them but prob a little more outdoorsy than I'll be needing... Maybe my life needs more mountains in it, I don't know...

Can't find guardian article I'm afraid, can you link it for me please?

Going to bed! Nobody needs to be discussing shoes at nearly 1am. Anyone still doing so must immediately report to Mumsnet Think Tank for World-Peace-Duties or something.

Thank-you all. This is why DH refers to Mumsnet as "The Oracle"!
