Looked the in the mirror last night and was appalled. I think it's time to get serious about skin and body care and I'd like some advice, tips, general MN wisdom.

My situation is this: I'm 35, had my second baby five months ago and have suddenly aged 10 years. Skin is getting wrinkly around eyes, eleasticity seems to be going, pores look huge, sometimes dry skin and sometimes oily, cellulite on lower body out of control.

What can I do? I currently use Clarins face wash, eye cream and moisturiser. Is it time to start using a separate night cream? Is it time for Botox (she says with fear)?? Are there some miracle treatments I should be trying?

Oil of Olay Regenerist Serum every night and Total Effects day every morning.

If I could afford Botox, I'd have it in a minute. On my forehead, which is the place where I am lined.

I am with you and have the same problems. Also aged about 20 years after DS - I am 34 looking 54! Any advice welcome.

Sell the children.

Tex111 · 10/04/2006 10:43

I wonder if I could get enough for the children to pay for Botox?

To make matters worse a lovely(!?) woman at work pointed out to everyone how downhill I had gone since DS ! And she has children of her own - not exactly supportive sisterhood ! [sad}

Oh God, wait till you reach 40! I'd have botox in an instant if I could justify paying that kinda money. Also, I understand you have to go back every six months... which will add up to major spending over the next 10 years. I'd like fillers injecting in the lines round my mouth too, but that looks very painful as well as pricy.

MissChief · 10/04/2006 11:15

toyboy wd do me wonders I'm sure. I'd need the botox first tho to attract one...

Tex111 · 10/04/2006 11:50

Don't think I have the energy for a toyboy but it's a nice idea. Maybe if I could find one who would just rub my feet.

Move to another country, where they don't have bloody unrealistic standards for knackered mums to live upto.

Sorry, i know that's no help at all, but sometimes I get fed up with how women here are supposed to look great when they can barely find the time to sit down for a cup of tea.

Luggs, can you spit in your colleague's coffee?

Luggs · 10/04/2006 15:10

Good idea Wink

drink plenty of water
always remove make-up
get another color or hilites to hair and invest in new haircut-you would be surprised how many years this knocks off

as for the nearly 40 somethings
speak for yourselvesGrin
