Skin is in a right state at the moment, feels two sizes too small. I love my cheapo Tesco lime shower gel but I think it's dried me right out. Willing to spend a bit if it works so please give me your best recommendations for shower gel and body lotion for parched skin!

I third l'occitane almond oil for the shower. I then moisturise with sweet almond oil with a couple of drops of essential oil in afterwards. I also do my elbows and any other dry patches throughout the day with a tiny drop of yube lotion as it's easy to carry around.

Dream wash from lush is the only shower cream that soothes my sons extremely dry and irritable skin. Lovely to follow up with their dream body cream if you can!

I use aqueous cream to wash. Followed by Oilatum gel (which I get on prescription) which i put on after I've rinsed off the aqueous cream and then rinse off lightly. Pat dry gently with towel. That leaves everything v soft but I also use Palmers coco body lotion on my arms, chest and legs after on my knees, shins and elbows.

I'm similar to you I avoid harsh chemicals, I was a big body shop fan but realised they are not 100% natural and searched for something better.

Then a friend at the NCT gave me pure body butters cocoa-shea moisturiser and that did the trick.

I highly recommend them: www.purebodybutters.com

Liz Earle orange wash shower gel. I have just started using aveeno lotion after seeing loads of recommendations on here.

I second double base cream. Dd has it on prescription for patches of excema and I use it on my legs when they occasionally go scaly. Otherwise I use Nivea which I also find good. Shower gel wise I use radox moisturising as everything else dries out my underarms.

It has to be Jason organic rose shower gel (the brand name.doesn't do it justice) Smile . It is the best stuff that I have tried and is pretty inexpensive too.

I have been avoiding Aqueous cream for at least 10 years (in spite of Dr!) and more recently it has been shown to aggravate sensitive skin

I use a range of prescription emollients, dependent on my skin such as dermol, diprobase, unguentum m and I use epaderm as a "barrier cream" in the shower.
I have found Vaseline intensive care to be great too.
