HOLY SHIT. My hair is matted at the roots, almost all over my head. I'm going to have to shave it off, arent I?

I had micro loop extensions put in about 2 1/2 months ago for a treat to.myself as I was feeling shit and ugly. They cost bloody loads but i had just come into some money so thought, hey why not?

I wanted them out after a month because they were itchy and horrible, bit i persevered with them because of the cost, and they were supposed to last 3-4 months.

My grandma has just taken them all out with pliers, it took 3 hours!

My hair is now matted and stuck together at the root almost all over my head, the only place that's okay is the top as they weren't in there.

What the hell do I do? It looks bloody awful and I don't think i can go out in public untill its sorted.

It resembles a thatched roof or a birds nest, maybe a bit of both. It's still itchy and still gross. I think its too knotty for even a hairdresser to sort it out tbh.

Any ideas? Pleeeeeeesse someone help me!

hello i have problems with my 7 year old grand daughters hair. it gets extremely matted very quickly. at the moment it is like a carpet underneath. aimee does not want it cut , but i have been trying for the last 2 weeks to untangle it. i have a detangling brush, a wide tooth comb conditioners of every kind. 3 different detangling sprays. oils of every kind and i am still having problems getting the mat out of her hair. i am close to crying. she had all her hair cut off 2 years ago because of the same problem, and it is now grown to her shoulders. the bits that are not tangled look absolutely beautiful but the underneath has a mind of its own. please help i am at my wits end

Cheap conditioner that is slippy as some aren't. Mix some oil into it too. Wet your hair first. apply said potions and squish them in. Start to brush or comb from the ends and slowly work you way up. Do it in sections.

It will take a day at the very least.

Afterwards give your hair a good few treatments and love. And get a hair cut booked in after as you will likely have spilt a lot of ends.

You treatments you wont need to get them at the hairdresser. Just go to boots and pick a sulphate free shampoo, a deep moisturiser and a protein treatment.

I have had extensions for years. It’s really important to brush your hair properly when you have extension from the roots all the way down. The best way to do this is with a tangle teaser this way it won’t pull on the bonds. Brush you hair a couple of times a day and make sure you do it thoroughly when you wash it. Also always sleep with your hair in a plait to avoid pulling and matting when you sleep. This is basic after care that you should have been instructed to do by your hairdresser. As I said, had extensions for years and never had a problem.

Hello

Is there anything that worked?

My hairs past my bottom but it wound tight like a deed on the top of my scalp, really close.
I’ve been working on it since Christmas Eve.
The oiliest thing I’ve tried out if all of the above andmore is Italian salad dressing.

I’m seeing my hairdresser today to see what he thinks.
He’s been doing my hair for 29 years.

I really don’t want to lose it.
It’s past my bum. It can tuck into my pants now.
I’m 56,I just got itbavh after shaving it in 99 when my grandson passed and I had to bury him.

@Icecream2468 you'd be better starting your own thread in style and beauty as this one is 7 years old and I'm sure there are newer products on the market.
