Hi

I have been growing my hair ever since my son arrived in 2006 and have rarely darkened a hairdressers door in that time. However, needs must as the damn stuff has decided to fall out by the handful ( possible thyroid issue, getting blood tests done). I've also concluded that some restyling is needed and have booked a haircut for tomorrow morning with extra time for a consultation and restyle.

What on earth might work as a style? I'm 37, 5'10, 11 stone and size 12, carrying a little more weight than I'd like (thyroid again, or possibly chocolate :) )

Hair is light brown to dark mouse depending on how generous you're feeling. Very thick despite falling out issues - these have reduced it from hairbrush eating status to normal thickness. Just enough curl/ wave to be a pain in the arse but not enough to actually be curly. Have generally found it takes a short crop well, or long, but goes wild in the mid length. It bobs nicely provided I have the time to straighten or blow dry it. Current length is below shoulder blades and I tend to wear it in a single plait.

Have two small kids so time is extremely limited especially in the AM. Do work so it needs to look professional. I've been hennaed in my time and briefly tried the blond highlights but want to avoid colour until
I've sorted the style.

I want to avoid looking middle aged even though I am!

Help much appreciated!

Rose Byrne's various hairdos over the years may suit you. A few are here:

Thank you that's very kind. I have ended up with a fairly conservative option but at least the split ends have been conquered!
