Help! Shoes for this dress AND "boyfriend cardigans"

...not to be worn at the same time!

I'm not on S&B very often but would like to ask the wise ladies here which shoes/boots I should wear with this dress:

www.my-wardrobe.com/vivienne-westwood-anglomania/new-drape-salon-print-dress-512718

(It looks better IRL than in the picture!) I have no idea what style/colour to go for. The ones on the model look quite, well, boring.

And as I'm heavy of hip I'd love more boyfriend cardis to cover them up when I'm wearing skinny jeans, ones that hang nice and straight without superfluous extra volume round the bottom. Any ideas?

Thanks!

soft grey shoe boots

and the cardigan will accetuate your hips imo rather than cover.

these in either colour I have them and they are lovely

Ooh thanks - like both shoe suggestions (so far!) I was thinking shoe-boots but worried they've had their day, I could only find them for sale in M&S - maybe I'm just a crap online shopper these days. Will the ankle straps on the mango ones make my calves look big? I'm 5'3" and size 10-12, in mourning for my pre-babies size 8 though.

On the cardi, I had a long one, vfront 2 small pockets, straight and fitted that went below my bum, definitely smoothed out the wide-hip thing. I lost it though (boo!) Most cardis I've found cut off somewhere between waist and hip (bad) or have some awful mumsy flair at the bottom/waterfall front/fussy detail. I've found this: www.purecollection.com/.Cashmere-Boyfriend-Cardigan_LK-E99.htm but it's rather more than I wanted to pay! Artificial fibre will do!

this?

these would go

Is it for formal wear ?

herethereandeverywhere · 27/11/2012 21:22

Gah, I thought I'd posted an explanation but it's vanished Sad

Glitknit: not formal wear as such - it looks good over my coloured skinnies with ash trainers to dress it down but I was looking for shoes to wear it with bear legs/tights for Xmas trips to the pub/out to dinner etc.

I'm nervous of things that cut me at the ankle in case it emphasises my short, stumpiness - do I just ignore that in order to look fashionable? Confused

thanks again noddy Smile
