Wellies for thin(ish) legs which are hard wearing - do they exist???

Hi
Desperately seeking replacement for (shite) hunters. Love the hunters for their height and shape, hate them for the leaks and holes.

I have thin(ish) legs so most wellies swamp me, does anybody have any advice, please?

I wear them for dog walking ALL THE TIME so they need to be hard wearing. And I don't want hot feet so not sure the neoprene lined stuff is a good idea??

Any advice much appreciated

Le Chameau vega. Blummin marvellous.

Le Chameau vega - do they fit thin legs cos of the buckle then? Or is that decorative only?

They're just a more tapered, stylish fit, rather than wafting around at the top like normal wellies cos of the lack of shaping. And yes, the buckle does adjust to pull it in a bit more. Hunt around on price too. My first pair were a present 10 years ago and were hammered and I mean hammered, not just long dog walks every day. Bought my second pair last year and got them for about £87 from Robinsons.

Thanks for the tip. I prefer to try all shoes/boots on before buying but don't know where I can do this - live in central London. How do your wellies come up for size, any ideas? For me, one foot is size 6, the other 6.5 - really annoying!

Given you a bum steer saying vega. It's not them, it's www.wellywarehouse.co.uk/le-chameau-vierzonord-extreme-p-513.html

If you're in London, go to a gun shop.

I have a pair of Roks - neoprene, with a wicking layer, so great temperature regulation. The green is more of a forest green than the photo.

wadadlis · 22/11/2012 19:26

oh gawd, too much choice. Roks look a lot cheaper than le chameau, any ideas of the difference? bit worried about the neoprene, think i might bake in the summer?

Lougle · 22/11/2012 19:30

No, the roks have a layer which wicks the heat away. I have worn them on a fairly warm autumn day and a really cold day; my feet felt exactly the same on both days. Just completely 'neutral', neither hot nor cold.

I purchased a pair of Le Chams a month or so ago after reviewing on line. Omg they are sooooo comfy, my dd has nicked them.

wadadlis · 22/11/2012 20:04

Thanks everyone, will try some of all if I can!

Aigle do riding-boot style wellies that have the skinniest calves I've ever seen - in fact too skinny for me. All other wellies I've tried are enormous, even those that can be laced up (Ilse Jacobsen).

I'd recommend hunter lady balmorals

www.hunter-boot.com/balmoral-lady-neoprene/dark-olive

They are guaranteed for heavy use and i have found them very comfy and warm (do 6-10 miles daily in all sorts of terrain) although i have only had them 1 year they are holding up well.
