But you are a vile tart aren't you Lou?? I'll be deeply disappointed if you're not Wink

lou33 · 02/04/2006 18:52

It is me and i am neither vile nor a tart (unless i am asked nicely to be)

SoupDragon · 02/04/2006 18:52

:)

lou33 · 02/04/2006 19:00

But in all seriousness, i do not like the sweeping assumption that short skirts and the like, make you a tart or mutton.

Does that mean if some bloke assaulted me it would be my fault?

ScummyMummy · 02/04/2006 19:26

Sincerely hope no one thinks so, Lou. I think those sort of comments reflect the fact that quite a few mumsnetters tend to rather conservative dressing, probably. Marks and Spencers is easily the most linked to site in the style section, ime, and while they have some good stuff sometimes M&S is hardly the cutting edge of fashion even in high street terms, is it? (I'm not a particularly daring dresser either, to be fair.) You always look sexy and gorge in all the pictures you post of yourself, btw.

CODDYPANTS · 02/04/2006 19:43

lou
calm down fgs
no need to go so overboard!

touched a raw nerve?

lou33 · 02/04/2006 19:45

Thanks scummy, but it just really pisses me off , i see comments like that far too often on mn, and noone ever seems to question it.

I hope cod goes by more than if their dress sense offends her, when she is passing sentence

lou33 · 02/04/2006 19:46

No cod not at all, i'm just sick of hearing you taking the piss out of people all the time

I don't understand where te "if some bloke assaulted me it would be my fault" remark sprang from.

lou33 · 02/04/2006 20:23

because cod's remarks are only a tiny step away from that sort of attitude imo

SoupDragon · 02/04/2006 20:29

Have to say I disagree with that one. If someone thinks you dress "like a tart" or like "mutton" it doesn't therefore mean what you wear gives someone the right to assault you. Entirely different IMO.

noddyholder · 02/04/2006 20:30

I think she was just implying that in her opinion those clothes are only suitable for the young and anyone else looks too old in them Don't think she was meaning what you thought lou at least I hope not!

nulnulcat · 02/04/2006 21:16

what is too old though? im 35 and like wearing the sort of stuff that is getting slated here, what am i supposed to be wearing then? im never buying clothes in m and s! sorry but conservative clothes are not something that you will ever find in my wardrobe.

nulnulcat · 02/04/2006 21:17

i mean i only wear the stuff when going out, its a bit ott for a trip to asda!

welshboris · 02/04/2006 21:18

at 35? Go to Marks and stock up on twinsets fgs

nulnulcat · 02/04/2006 21:26

the only stuff i will ever buy in m and s is there food or knickers!

nulnulcat · 02/04/2006 21:26

their food even

welshboris · 02/04/2006 21:31

bet theyre big knickers

nulnulcat · 02/04/2006 21:46

oh my god no!!! not big knickers!!! you will have me wearing tights next!!

nulnulcat · 02/04/2006 21:46

and sensible shoes!!!

jampots · 02/04/2006 22:45

i think certain clothes do look better on the younger model to be honest. What looks good on a twenty year old doesnt necessarily look as good on a 40 year old unless of course the said 40 year old has the youthful skin of said 20 year old in which case please could she let me know what face cream she uses :)

lou33 · 03/04/2006 12:21

i'd like to see cod call someone a vile tart irl and see if she could get away with it tho.

jampots has a better way with words

nailpolish · 03/04/2006 14:14

omg

i cmae back to the thread not expecting to see this

i refer back to the middle dress i linked - would wear it with trousers or on holiday somewhere hot and sunny

is that ok?

Yeah but lou33, we all say things on here that we wouldnt say in RL.

Im sure Cod would be quite scathing if she had to be in RL though, doubt its an internet persona she puts on
