Ha ha, didn't it just!

Looks bloody marvellous if you ask me!

JanH · 31/03/2006 19:32

If you're going for plaits I think \link{http://www.cheshire-biodiversity.org.uk/images/c2004%20Fiona%20and%20Bob%20Flowerdew.jpg\this} should be the look to aim for!

If you are trying to grow it - then you will end up with a pony tail at some point as hair in your face is annoying when cooking, working etc. So if you don't think you can carry off a pony tail then get your hair cut short again.

I recently got some hair straighteners and have found that used very lightly they just stop my hair looking mad and it hangs more nicely around my face. It's less annoying and now I only tie it back to work and cook.

threebob · 31/03/2006 19:33

JanH - the lady in the photo would look fine with hers in a ponytail too.

desperateSCOUSEwife · 31/03/2006 19:34

I think straighteners are essential for older hair
stops the brillo pad lookGrin

red37 · 31/03/2006 19:37

olive oil ocassionally massaged into roots encourages the sebacious glands to work,ie making it grow quicker

desperateSCOUSEwife · 31/03/2006 19:43

red37 could you wring out the olive oil for your stir fry
if you put in too muchGrin

stitch · 31/03/2006 19:45

desperateSCOUSEwife · 31/03/2006 19:46

red37 · 31/03/2006 19:49

olive oil is a wonderful thingGrin
lots of uses for it, it lubricates

desperateSCOUSEwife · 31/03/2006 19:50

makes a mean stir fry too

DumbledoresGirl · 31/03/2006 21:02

JanH is your pic of Bob Flowerdew of Garderner's Question Time fame? I ask because he was interviewed in the Sunday Times last week. I always thought he was an all right sort of bloke until I read the extent to which he goes to save every tiny penny, and his theory that hair is an aerial to dreams and that he is growing his hair long to see if his dreams change. Hmmmmmm

nulnulcat · 31/03/2006 21:07

im 35 have really thick curly hair which i can sit on i wear it in a high ponytail for work not chav everyone says it looks nice suppose it would be chav if it was full of gel and crap but i dont use it ever im the only beautician who doesnt own a can of hairspray! i also have it in 2 bunches or plaits occasionally it depends on what mood im in only ever really have it down if going out somewhere

Hulababy · 31/03/2006 21:10

When on holiday I often wear two plaits at the side. Low down ones though. I just keeps my hair in okay condition and doesn't end up looking a nightmare at end of day that way.

Just have to make sure I don't have matching hairstyle, or elastics, as DD when we are out Grin

Hulababy · 31/03/2006 21:11

I don't have the option of wearing my hair down lots as I can't use many hair products as it really bothers the psoarasis on my scalp. Spray is a killer for it!

nulnulcat · 31/03/2006 21:28

hulababy i have that problem i use frizz ease but only on ends of hair i dont let it come into contact with my scalp

JanH · 31/03/2006 21:29

Yes it is, DG - he gives me the creeps !
