can we talk about kids' clothes here?

and if so, can someone please tell me if Marks & Spencer's children's clothes come up big or about right?

I'm after some long sleeve vests for my 21 month old but I'm struggling to get any above 18mo or at the most 18-24 months. She's short and fat and although she wears within her size for the most part, I think I'd prefer to get age 2-3 vests as they always shrink a bit in the dryer.

Sorry I totally misread your post! They come up true to size I think, although the length isn't great...my DD is 17mo and I bought her 18-24. They only just fit lengthwise but she is tall. Maybe get 2-3

Trousers come up very long, tops quite snug and vests a bit short and wide I find. go for the bigger size! Mothercare do bigger sized vests that are good quality, John lewis ones go very odd in the wash... Sainsbury's tu ones are really good quality (and cheaper) if that helps?

I think m&s come a bit small - especially in tops/cardigans etc.

I get larger size vests with poppers from mothercare, my son has some age 2-3 ones from there

Sainsbo's didn't have any bigger sizes when I went today but I do use a lot of their clothes and find 18-24 tops a bit snug so have bought 2-3 tops today. Still in 18-24 mths for trousers though. In fact, I think she's still wearing some 12-18 mth trousers from some places quite happily! Crazy how sizes differ.

Short and wide might just work for us. I can always get both sizes because they will fit at some point.

I think they come up a little small but dd is taller than average, so maybe that's why. I tend to find that John Lewis are slightly bigger (so last longer) and Sainsbury's Tu prob true to size.

JL are definitely bigger - I think DD is still wearing a 12-18mth dress from there!
