Oh noooo - DS1 has a lovely spot on his nose and DS2 is getting blackheads on his!

DS1 has always had sensitive skin (mild eczema as a tot) which has always been a bit dry and we have never used even soap on him [although we are no strangers to aqueous cream and emulsifying ointment!] . But here comes puberty. Can anyone recommend a skincare regime that has worked for their teen folk?

bump - oh please, I don't know where to start! I don't want anything that's going to scrape the surface off their lovely skin! Must be someone ???? [wails]

Try Simple Spotless skin.

Great for sensitive skin but still does something.

I would tell them not to pick them! I did have loads of scars, i tried every thing poss a doc could give me. I went to see a dermotoligist.

Black heads are hard to budge! I use stuff like op said, nothing to heavy on their skin.

Also use warm water to open their pores then wash it with the product and then splash with cold to close them then pat dry never rub Shock

Neutrogena oil free range is a good one. Facial wash to use once a day, scrub couple of times a week to help prevent blackheads and a light moisturiser daily.

Some of the spot treatment ranges can be quite harsh and can aggravate the skin.

Having been there and done that as a teen, with the marks to prove it, I think for acne there is feck all that works. So what I would say is this: give a decent product a fair trial and if it's not working, take a trip to your GP.
Something like Clean and Clear has a decent amount of salicylic acid, which is quite effective at clearing skin, or for your sensitive DS, try La Roche Posay Efaclar range. No point in wasting time trying lads of products or spending a fortune. If the spots are big and taking ages to clear, or you think they are leaving scars, get medical help.

Also look into 'dermol 500 lotion' you can get it from the doctors. Very light and not heavy on my face. You can use it to wash your whole body but it makes me face super smooth.

I also use doublebase on my face for a moisturizer. I only use a little, i dont know if that would be any good, my face is quite dry because of my skin changing.

Hope it has helped Grin

Around the time my DD had very bad acne, I started drinking green smoothies. Purely out of curiosity she started having some of the smoothie. Amazingly, within a few weeks the acne calmed down so much and her skin was beautiful again. She swears by them now and anytime she gets a few spots she asks for a smoothie.

Gosh, thank you all so much! I feel so much better with a few pointers.

crazy, if you don't mind my asking, what do you put in your "green smoothies"?
