PUFFA coats- are they really "nice"?

They seem to be all over- but when I had one about 10 years ago DH hated it and said I looked as if I were wearing a duvet. I gave it to a charity shop.

Rabs are 'mazin'.... but it's not vair nice, is it? What about a nice camel coat? :-)

I know this is an old thread but it's going to start getting cold soon and I came on to praise Rab coats Grin

I'm a very cold soul and I've tried all sorts of Puffa-y type coats but my Rab is the warmest coat ever.

It's not like you're thinking "Gosh I'm warm" - more that you just don't feel cold. Whatever the temperature, you just feel comfortable.

Worth every penny.

They're hideous in my view...I'd rather wear a wool coat Nd risk smelling of wet dawg

I bought a long Northface one from the outlet village two years ago after deliberating for ages because of the cost. It's brilliant and warm, stuff fashion!

Does it make your hair go static dolly?
I bought a hight street brand puffa coat last year. If my hair touches it, it stands on end.

They would probably look ok for the school run but I feel they look frumpy otherwise

orlakielyimnot · 05/09/2015 12:06

I never liked the look personally, and I think the answer is in the name of the style "puffa". Makes me think of puffins, and those fish that expand when threatened, and people who lose their breath...

I have a thin-Ish but really warm the north face one. Ok it won't win style awards bug is genuinely quite nice, fitted and doesn't make me look like a walking sleeping bag- it's awesome for chilly weather walks to school, it was perfect when I went to Boston last year... I think the uniqlo ones are quite slim but warm too. Thing is, if you can't have warm AND stylish, I know which I'd choose!

I have a Belstaff got it in the sale years ago before it became a fashionable brand, it looks fine and I often get compliments on it.

My toddler has a puffa jacket and he looks very adorable and squishable in it. Grin
