I'm more of a Tesco/Asda/Sainsburys or if I splurge M&S; would H&M be a good place to look?

Any ideas?

M&S jeans (esp the coloured jeggings) are great, no bagging on wearing at all. Not low on the waist. I have horrendous tummy covered in stretchmarks and they hold them in nicely.
I personally do not like the Next highwaist skinnies. They were great for the first few washes but now (after 5 washes) they have really faded and the elastic seems to have gone - the knees and bum bag out as soon as I sit down. I have found this a lot with Next jeans and never learn (damn your convenient delivery and collection service).

I have just got 2 pairs of jeans from Next - lift, shape and slim I think mine are called - lovely high waist and do exactly as they claim!

Come in all styles and 2 lengths.
I have straight leg and skinny - very comfortable
About £45.

I'd second the TS Kirstens. I've got a long torso and they're comfortably high waisted on me. As I remember they size in two inch increments which is no good for me as I'm between a 28" and a 30" in this style.

I can't tell you if they wear well, though - I returned them when I realised TS are tax dodgers Grin

SomethingOnce · 27/10/2012 17:39

Kristens, sorry!

KatyMac · 27/10/2012 19:09

Thanks everyone; lots of choice I'm all confused now Blush

I tired some on in Dorothy Perkins skinnies, and ultra skinnies on today. I found them a good waist height. Comfy and good looking too. And cheap, which is always good.

I find if the waist is too high they can be less flattering under your clothes and make you bulky round the middle. Next high waist jeans look terrible on me.

Gap ones are fab, wish i had two pairs i wear them to death (and to work)

PippiL · 27/10/2012 20:14

Oh yes, I tried on dp jeggings too! Never thought I would see the day when I would try on jeggings....

...anyway, they were actually quite good. But the maternity style elasticated waist band put me off a bit just cos even though no one would ever see it...I would know it was there!

PippiL · 27/10/2012 20:15

Which gap ones mosschops?

mosschops30 · 27/10/2012 20:23

The 'real straight' ones. Theyre the best jeans ive ever had, fit really well, wash well, ok for work/casual/going out.
Really must get another pair

KatyMac · 28/10/2012 09:00

OK I am going shopping with black jeans as my goal (in 2 weeks or so)

Probably M&S or NEXT

Thanks for your suggestions

New look have some skinny jegging type back ones with a elasticated band at the waist, makes for comfy wearing and £12:99 a pop.

KatyMac · 05/11/2012 14:26

Top Shop's Kristen ones are the BEST by a mile. Think they're about £40. They're always recommended in all the fash mags/glossies - not that that's important, but just to emphasise it's more than just me who believe's in their general fabulousness!

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 05/11/2012 17:15

Next Lift, Shape and Slim - I have skinny and bootcut in black and blue. Best jeans I ahve had in years.

I also have some M&S black jeggingss
