Is it possible to re-sole boots with a corrugated sole?

I have a pair of beeeeyotiful leather boots with a tyre-track style sole.

(a bit like the soles on these boots )

The uppers are absolutely fine, but the soles are very thin under the ball of the foot, and one now has a crack from side to side.

Do I have to chuck them out or is there anything that can be done?

I'd be gutted to chuck them out as it's bloody hard to find boots that fit my fat calves and they go with everything...

Yep I think so - take them to a good cobbler (ie not timpsons).

My local independent cobbler has resoled similar for me. OK, it took a bit longer (a few days rather than returning in an hour or so) but it was well worth it.

Did they remove the whole sole and replace it with a similar one?

Ummm, can't really remember... I think he sliced off the sole above the tracks. I definitely know he put another track-type sole on.

Thank you. I'm just finding it a bit hard to imagine how they'd do it as the corrugated sole seems to be an integral part of the boot iyswim.

I know I could just go and ask, but there isn't a decent cobbler locally so it would mean schlepping a long way to find one.
