Is it me or are the acne pistol boots and the all saints equivalent a bit like what mumsnet calls ' mum boots ' ???

There was the exact same thread a month ago so clearly some people do think this.

I don't and am wearing mine today with skinnies, cashmere and scarf - I am a mum though and am wearing boots so I guess by that definition they are mum boots.

But we all know that the person who first used the term mum boots on here was referring to a particular blocky style worn with slightly too short jeans in a pleasing midblue rinse.

Sigh. This is getting old.

Well like MrsCB I'm a mum, and I'm wearing mine today, so I guess they must be mum boots.

That being said, I don't really give a shit, I don't need my fashion choices validated, and they cost me £36.

I have no idea if this has been done before, but I do think that if it comes down to the proportions of the heels, then it is slightly over my head.

If you like them, get them.
If you don't like them, don't get them.

If you didn't like them when they were £40 Clarks mum boots but do like them now they are £300 and in magazines, reconsider your priorities.

Oh I definitely think they are nicer than the classic mum boots but I do think its funny how perceptions change .

I like the very light ones. But would only pay half price these days.

So these expensive ones are not unlike mum boots, but not a classic example.

They are nice but dont look anything special. I think the term 'mums boots' is appropriate.

For me to splash out that kind of money on a pair of boots, they would have to look a whole lot more different to the M&S or Clarks boots that everyone else is wearing.
